I resign from the WF today.

Ya know....

I could point to the thread where it all started, but Im not going to. I CREATED the market on WF for the telemarketing movement, only it wasnt a market to me , it was a passion. A passion to really take an idea, and a wealth of GENUINE experience that was burning inside of me and help people with it.

I wanted to and enjoyed helping so much, and it was so in demand that I went to it fulltime. The satisfaction of helping people daily in that manner and seeing their success was unbelievable.

Back when I started talking about this, hardly anyone knew how to get offline sales here.

I knew I could help, and I knew I had solutions when I realized that I had sold thousands of the things that everyone was struggling to find a way to sell.... And it worked. It really helped people, and I feel it changed the entire face of offline marketing at the wf, and gave power to people.

There wasnt even an offline forum..., nor was the subject even very prevalent...other than door to door sales, which was being taught very well by Andrew Cavanaugh who most of you dont even have the history here to appreciate, and George Wright.

Telemarketing wasnt even a subject... and I fought MUCH opposition to bring the idea forward..., as a person who has sold tens of thousands of websites through it.

You could not shake my conviction, because I had DONE it.

I gave you the benefit of hundreds of thousands of calls and tens of thousands of sales... YEARS of professionally training people in live sales environments..... but I wasnt much of a writer, and I wasnt very good at capitalizing on my teaching. I gave most of my knowledge and work away for free, as a matter of fact, out of pure passion for seeing people succeed.... and, yes, I totally stumbled into making some money with it, without even intending to initially....and also made some mistakes along the way...

It's amazing how a man can do tons of good, but is remembered for the few mistakes he made along the way... I can deal with that.

However.... being disingenous is something that is totally against what I stand for.

Today, you credit people for my work here who have never telemarketed a single 8 hour day in their life, and rewrite everything I ever wrote on here and the TMF. Stuff I wrote with genuine sincerity toward you...

Basically, copy writers, with no offline experience.

And so....

Today I give up all of my investment, all of my thanks (not a single one of which was solicited) to do one thing.... To show you, that there is true sincerity out there.... there are people with real values, and real value to offer, who stand for more than just making a name to sell WSO's, who arent willing to pose as something they arent in order to make a buck off of you... People who will see the best for as long as they can, until the truth becomes undeniable, and who cannot stand with the truth that they have come to see

In closing,

Sure I have made mistakes along the way, but I did alot more good here than I will mention, and I was always genuine...

If that is not appreciated any longer...then you my friends have lost a great asset today, someone who was actually everything they claimed to be...

But maybe not a total loss, because I have already given you freely all that I know....

Today I quit the Warrior forum.

Thank you to all the people who I have shared love with here, and who have shared it back with me... you know who you are.... and for those who turned on me, over bull$!it....

Later.... Have your forum.

To the fake rehashers.... You can pick the apples, but you can never be the tree.

I will never regret the opportunity that this teaching has afforded so many people, nor the great experiences I have had with so many of you.

For those who have really understood our relationship and werent so selfish that you couldnt recognize unselfishness... I love you.

I didnt want to be forced out with dishonor, but I will quit with honor, knowing what has been accomplished whether it is recognized or not.

So with that; peace and love to all those who get it, and for those who arent capable of comprehending it.... Well, there's no help for you.

After 15 years. I quit the warrior forum.

This is the day of independence for all the offline munchkins and their descendants!

You guys have fun.

    What a load of bollocks.

I was around when you pissed people off, and in truth you pissed me off, you were full of shit most days "in my eyes" and always had to be one better.

It was at a point i decided to just get out of the forum before I lost sanity with your crap, ad so I left, then not long after that, you were life banned.

For some unknown reason, you were given a second life, ad the great John Durham rose from the ashes like the phoenix, and I was probably one of the first people to say who let the devil back out hell.

Fast forward, I recall of late the past weeks, thinking , "hey everybody makes mistakes, shit even I make them, ad he seems to be a all right person"

So just maybe your pulling the pin way to early, don't let other peoples thoughts and actions control who you are, and more importantly there is probably a whole new generation of people who could probably use your help.

Not saying I will ever understand telemarketer and or agree with it, but if these new pups need some help they may just need an old dog to show them a few tricks.

Ask what it is you can do to help others and I am sure you will see that there will be a spot for you here as things move forward.

I really enjoyed reading your post and would be a great shame if you leave. I like being on the warrior forum as it has help me so much. It's sort of like a mastermind group... and has helped me with specific problems in my life. It has helped me to make massive breakthroughs.

I say it again. It would be a shame if you left.

      .
John we all make huge mistakes, I agree what is highlighted above. The advice you have given the past fews weeks has been golden. Take a break if something else is going on in your personal life. Don't give up yet.

What about those that are new here or stopping by in the future that need help?John is no longer here to maybe point a few in the right direction. No one owes you anything here, but cool off a little bit. At the end of the day it is not worth it.

        You have contributed much.

But I respect you deciding to leave, and take your word for it, that you are serious.

I know that your post is not some immature tantrum designed to get us to beg you to come back. I know that it's a real notification, done with dignity, that you are gone.

And I respect a man that can stick to his decisions. You told us you are gone, and I accept that as final.

Below is a snippet from a article I like called

"The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fu**"

"This is what is so admirable — no, not me, dumbass — the overcoming adversity stuff. The staring failure in the face and shoving your middle finger back at it. The people who don’t give a Fu** about adversity or failure or embarrassing themselves or shitting the bed a few times. The people who just laugh and then do it anyway. Because they know it’s right. They know it’s more important than them and their own feelings and their own pride and their own needs. They say “Fu** it,” not to everything in life, but rather they say “Fu** it” to everything unimportant in life. They reserve their Fu**s for what truly Fu***** matters. Friends. Family. Purpose . Burritos. And an occasional lawsuit or two. And because of that, because they reserve their Fu**s for only the big things, the important things, people give a Fu** about them in return."

    John,

I hate to see you leave and wish that you'd reconsider. There aren't very many people here that come close to providing the value that you do. I've been in and out of the sales game for the better part of 35 years, nearly half of that telemarketing, and I'm pretty confident in my abilities.

However, I'm also not embarrassed at all to say that of learned a lot from you in just the short time you've been back.

That report you wrote has really changed the way that I look at this industry. I even have one of your posts printed and tacked on the wall in front of me. It reminds me of your words of wisdom and helps keep me focused.

Your timing couldn't have been more perfect. I was (and still am) burnt to a crisp and really need some time off, which I'm about to take. Your report really changed my outlook and has made things simple, even fun, again.

As far as people not getting over stuff goes, I haven't heard the whole story and, frankly, it's none of my business.

As someone who's really, REALLY screwed up many times in my life, I've learned that all I can do is try my best to make things right again, but if people still won't forgive me all I can do is move on. I still have to live with my mistakes, but I'm also trying to learn from them. If they decide they want to continue to hate I'd be lying if I said it didn't still hurt me, but I feel even worse for them.

"Person with no forgiveness in their heart, lives in an even worse punishment than death."

I'll take your Og Mandigo and up you one Mr. Miyagi!

    Lol

Hope to see you back soon, John.

      Joe;

It isn't going to work. Nope. If John was the kind of person to throw a hissy fit, to get people to beg him to stay, that would be one thing. But John has definitely made his decision, and we have to honor it.

He's not the kind of person to go back on his word. Just ask any of his clients. John's word is his bond. So, when he says he's moving on, it's final.

You can take his word to the bank.

I'm sure John appreciates every nice thing that has been said here. but once a real man makes a decision, he stands by it.

I would like to think we all learned something from John. But John is above emotional appeals for him to stay. I say we honor the man he is, and let him go with dignity.

We are just prolonging the pain, and John wouldn't want that. It's best to make it a clean break, and let us remember him as the principled man he is.

      • Claude, maybe I'm wrong but I sense a little sarcasm in your posts, or at least a little bit of an ulterior motive.

I'll add John to the growing list of people who come on here to proclaim their superiority in knowledge and ability. Yes, John contributed some value, but, like others, it was more about self aggrandizing and self validation as opposed to being simply altruistic. Oh, and let's not forget about that whole ripping people off and getting banned thing. Bye John, please stay away, this forum needs to get back to business and not be about drama and ego.

        Just my 2 cents.

Seriously, thanks for the helpful posts, but it isn't like you're the only one to make some and as far as I know you didn't invent telemarketing itself and likely your contributions were based on things you learned from experience and from others as well. Starting a thread like this just seems like more attention whoring. You've got a lot to offer but seem to get in your own way. Oh well, I'm sure we'll see you around because even when banned you just can't stay away. It sounds from your post like your ego needs this place and the admiration of others here. If you truly offered all of that insight just out of the goodness of your heart to help people you wouldn't be bringing it up like you're somehow owed something even now. You'll likely be back to try to find what you're missing here again.

Can I borrow this; dramanomics? I think I could write a report.

As for OP, no pup in the pen, no pony at the post, no pea in the pot....

I'm just one of the link whores, nothing to add. But,

Over the years, there have been tons of guys who have taken over and even dominated a sub-forum, and they have similar qualities about them.

They come, they go. The beat goes on.

Now, if you really want to learn how to use DRAMA to increase your profits, then pre-register for my new work (in progress, I have a title so far)

DRAMANOMICS, the art of creating drama for profits.

      Some chapters might include,

      All the World's a Stage
The Kid in Walmart laying on the floor screaming always gets attention.
How to staple their eyes open and make em look

and any other ideas you could have.

Anyone else quitting, resigning or saying good bye?

For those left, DRAMANOMICS, better than an Oscar for repeat customers.

Seriously,I don't know this John Durham very well. To be honest, I know nothing about him.
But this is proof that Threads dominated by people who act dramatic can really entice the eyeballs.

Ultimately however, I wouldn't qualify this drama and the eye ball attraction as providing even negligible value ( For the OP himself and the other Members as well)

Just a silly spectacle and a little entertaining.

However, I will skip out of here and go attend with my wife a show at the Comedy Zone tonight in 2 hours.
I will sit back in my seat and quickly forget about this nonsense and probably find much more redeeming value (with my beer in hand ) watching a guy smashing mirrors with a large concrete banana and a oversized' condom at the end of it.

        Now that's entertainment

P.S. John, I hear the comedian got the 'oversized' condom from a Import/Export Business in Sweden. Might be something to think about. They make great toboggans for the Winter , and I think they cover shipping

It is a shame when there are such good threads and discussions that they can't get the attraction of the best contributors.

If forum members would add more constructively to the sensible threads it would add greater value to everyone.

Thank you to all contributors in the various sub forums who continue to be the backbone of WF.

          Spoiler alert.

JD has left the forum to work on his SitCom for HBO, working title: The Boiler Room. Tense dramedy as a team competes for hourly prizes, each trying to outsell the other, while peddling sugar pills disguised as supplements. Auto ship sales count double.

JD, in a Larry David/Jerry Seinfeld way plays himself, only a more kind and less egotistical version of himself.

As for my own soiree into show biz, I'm a throw back "character" driven comedian which hearkens back to Jackie Gleason, Red Skelton, Sid Caesar and Milton Berle... and YES, I have the requisite dress for the skits which require them.

Most of my material comes from the WF, and should NBC give it an order, then the pilot...

          My Favorite Warrior

Which features a Martian Vampire in the lead role, should resonate with more than a few of you.

Sometimes, a Warrior just has to resign, to pursue bigger dreams and go where no warrior has gone before (except Vin Montello, of course).

AS for Dramononmics, note the spelling change, a weasel way to get out of paying you any commissions...or royalties,

It will be a continuous thread, which is kept alive for years by members pleading with each other to cease and desist...but we just can't.

    Dear John,

I'm writing you to tell you I have found another. Your absence from my life has caused a loneliness I can no longer bear. (Is that the right way to spell that? Who cares, you ALWAYS spell alot as one word.. for Pete's sake John, it is, and always has been TWO WORDS.).. I digress..

Anyhow, it's over. While I, and so many others, really appreciated your helpful, giving, warrioresk ways, I simply cannot get past you hurting innocent people. I believe you had your reasons, we all do in times of need, and while I'm sure that you really are sorry, your unwillingness to commit to us, hence the exit, has yet again put a foul feeling in my heart.

So, to show you that I appreciated the things you have done in the past, I will help to keep your memorable words alive, by bumping this thread!

IN all seriousness, John, your dramatic exit was exactly why you have received the responses here. You know something John, the threads you gave to us, the one's that had real value, you taught us a core principle... KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE.

I wish you well John, I had alot of respect for you. <-- see what I did for you?

Never really had a problem with John. Everyone screws up. Big freaking deal. How much money are we talking about anyway? If it made some people go broke - they probably aren't meant to be in business anyway.

But - I really don't understand posts like these. I myself no longer really jive with the WF. I know I've made some contributions now and again and used to hang out here a lot. It's kind of like that old friend you drift away from - I always know there is a community here but don't get back to it very much.

Why make a speech? Just don't log in anymore. It doesn't look like your account is banned - so really I am just confused.

I remember the very moment I realized I wasn't a great fit around here anymore. So, I just post less often. I don't expect anyone to cry for me LOL.

This is a strange post John. Whatever issues you are battling, I wish you luck with them. I hope you get over whatever it is that is tormenting you.

We all have those things to overcome - maybe this is just a good step in the right direction for you.

So it's ok to defraud people out of money as long as it's not a very large amount? And it's the victim's fault anyway since they shouldn't have been in business, right?

As I hadn't seen any contributions from you, to improve the Forum..I decided to look up your past posts, to see what advice you have offered recently.

After reading the first page of your "contributions", I see who you are.

I agree with you. One of the biggest problems here, is the phenomenon of posters who add nothing but bile. They just post vicious comments, without adding any value of their own.

These people have the mistaken idea that, if they say someone is stupid, it means that they are smarter.

They are blissfully unaware that I am talking about them, right now.

Hey Claude, I bought that cup! I now have the DNA of a sales genius.

I'm sending it off to UCLA which the CRISPR/Cas gene editing technology. I'm going to be selling a service where marketers can have their sales genes edited with your DNA blueprint.

          It's expensive but totally doable.

Of course, I have a downsell where one can have their sales genes activated epigenetically.

I've reviewed the transaction and it does look as though you bought the cup, but not the upsell of the gene private label rights. Before going forward, it would be in your best interests to create a mutually beneficial licensing agreement with my client, Mr. Whitacre.

                    I disagree.

In the Off Topic Forum, business isn't discussed. Philosophy, daily problems, jokes, and insults are traded. There is no pretense that we are talking business. This is where the "interesting" people hang out. And by "interesting", I mean crazy.

I go there purely to play. And some people there are truly insightful. Some truly inspired writing can be found here.

In the Offline Forum, it's a business forum, populated mostly with serious business people. And the subjects are handled seriously. Sure, there are a few posers, but mostly, ideas are exchanged. In the Offline Forum, you'll get real actionable advice, from people in the know.

The Writers forum, Copywriting, and Video forums also seem to attract serious posts.

This Thread devolved into nonsense, when the original purpose was sort of used up.

Yes, and us peeps in the Off Topic Forum say screw the gold as we want to play in the dirt... preferably in wet mud. With shirts off for the men and the women slinging the wet stuff back and forth rolling around like bickering hens in a foxes den basically just having a hell of a swell time

The OP ripped a load of members off. Got banned. The somehow got his account unbanned. He then proceeded to announce his arrival, made a few posts here and there, realised he wasn't getting enough attention. He then announced he was resigning from WF in the hope members would beg him to stay - no one has - whoops ! Now the thread is a few members having a laugh !!!

So this JD guy ripped off members, got banned but wanted to come back under the same user name? That's not usually the behavior of someone who purposefully did wrong to others. Why would he choose to enter the lions den so to speak. Doesn't add up.

Let's see, a new member with 15 posts jumps into a discussion about
a guy who pulled multiple WSO rip offs, defending that guy.

Come on now, if someone has ripped people off previously, going back in on the SAME user name would be WTF stupid. Nobody with bad intentions is going to do that. He'd know all his old disgruntled victims would come back out of the woodwork, want explanations, give him hell, further tarnish his reputation to new potential customers.

The only reason someone would knowingly return to face the music is maybe to make amends, start again with the hope to one day recover and yes, profit if all went well. Fair play.

A scammer would simply come back under a new name to covertly implement his skulduggery. So lets stop with the witch hunt because it makes zero sense!

I know he came back under the same name, he faced the music, I read that, so not the actions of someone with bad intentions. That my point! Most of the comments in this thread therefor don't make sense. This is like pulling teeth.

Nobody knows his intentions. He convinced the mods to let him come back

He would come back with the same user name, because that name still has value. The OP is a very bright man, who is perhaps the most knowledgeable person here on selling over the phone. The only exception might be Ken Michaels.

The Op certainly knows more about phone selling than I do. And his posts have great value....at least the posts that are contributing information.

That's why I said, "there is still meat on the lion bones." He still has some goodwill, and doesn't want to let go of that.

If he changed his User name, he would have to start all over again.

Of course, he might change his User name to test the waters. He's done that before.

Facing the music isn't an action that helps anyone but the OP. Making restitution, or delivering what was promised, would be an action that would matter.

And the bolded part of what I quoted, is exactly how the OP thinks other would think.

I obviously get all that. But if he'd acted so badly in the past, coming back just wouldn't have been an option and would have resulted in very little benefit. In reality, he has a lot of value and clearly people forgave him to a degree as he wanted to make amends. Everyone deserves a second chance. A lot of un-necessary mocking going on from others who clearly never gave a fraction of his value. NOT COOL!

As you are new - how would you know that???

Not sure what there is for you to argue about. I agree the gripes/complaints/slamming/etc have gone on for too long but you didn't lose money (nor did I) and don't know the history. Unless, of course, you aren't as new as you say.

I like John D - I know people make mistakes and I don't see the point of continuing to bash day after day. Others feel differently and that's their right.

If you know nothing about it - probably best to leave it alone instead of posting to extend the thread even more.

Cartman isn't JD's supposed wife or girlfriend again, is he? So many weird posters have come out of nowhere to either take the temperature if the room before he came back and now after he's gone. So much drama.

I never thought John intentionally ripped anybody off, but the drama he brings and ego are evident in this thread. I'm surprised it hasn't been locked.
