How to start training in sales myself

Hello people.

As I can see from my experiences with job searching and all the self-training I did myself for job interview, lately I am highly interested in sales.
Reading and discussing all the sales-over-phone related stuff is okay, but I would acquire much more knowledge with practice. That's clear and not arguable I guess.

So, here I thought that I would want to sell something over phone myself to get more practice, thus to get advanced in selling.
For that I need a product/service I will be selling and the people to whom I will be selling. People can be somehow found at least in Google (will be hard but still, organizations are easily found there), but with product/service I have difficulties to find.
I know I can find some affiliate websites like Amazon, Clickbank and stuff, but (I guess??) it will be hard to sell something to someone that i located on third party website and moreover, you can get a commission only in case if that person opens that product from your the link you provided. That's really hard I guess.

Do you have any suggestions what should, how to get proper product/service? from where should I start?

        I've had real experience spotting future superstars.

        One I work with closely was hired by me after he was hired in his first job
        as a professional phone salesman.

        The organization that hired him didn't spot him as a superstar.

        I didn't at first either.

        In his second month he became the number one sales guy in his division.

        One day the group's daily sales goal for 6 was shown... he personally hit it.

        He brought in a deal 50 times bigger than previous record.

        He get's on the phone with country head of Goldman Sachs, top four accounting firm in the world,
        largest freight broking firm and closes them with one call.

        He gets job offers from the people he calls because they haven't experienced anybody
        as good as him.

        I've observed what the biggest determining trait is for his success.

        I was talking with a guy who has great success in his field about this trait as I witnessed it.

        He had it early on and it was spotted by the car dealer who hired him.

        So, I don't care for their past or present,
        these future superstars could come from any background and I'm willing
        to talk to them to see if they have this trait that superstars have.

        They just need to have good English skills.

        The sad truth is these future superstars aren't spotted early on and their potential is wasted.

        Not even professional sales recruiters spot them, recruit for them
        and create an environment they can excell in.

  • Have you considered 'Network Marketing'?

    This can be a great option for you to practice your sales skills both in person and over the phone, and you can also utilize websites to generate leads...

    i am also a sale man.and now i read a book about Philip Kotler. He is the author of over 55 marketing books.now i am reading "Marketing management".its good, and u also can try to read it.hope it can help you.

    Do you have a consistent sales process you've adopted as your own?

    One that matches your personality, and that you feel great about?

    One that you're practicing, learning, and improving upon?

    Doesn't sound like it.

    Get this started first.

    Then go get a job (and it'll be so much easier when you can tell interviewers you have a sales process you follow, and see how it matches up--or doesn't--with the one that company follows...if it has one) selling a product or service YOU believe in.

    Pick your path. Don't let it randomly find you.

    In my view two basic types of training that fall under the umbrella of “sales training.”
    The first is teaching the mechanics of sales means how to go about selling in the general sense or you can say with an emphasis perhaps on the sales techniques that work best for your industry.
    The second type is company specific training its mean that details about your products and services, the sales process that your team is expected to use, tools and resources.
    It is not matter how experienced you are, both techniques are must be benefit for you.

    If you bring a new salesperson on board, your priority will be in company-specific training. Unless your new employee is a rank beginner they will have at least a basic grasp of the mechanics of selling, but it’s likely they won’t know much about your own products or how your particular sales process works.

    Your best place to start would be to look at becoming a "Sales development Rep". It's a low barrier of entry and you learn the basics of prospecting in a role like that.

    Once you got that experience down then you can learn about the sales process.
