Complete SEO Appointment Setting Script for Cold Calls

Hey guys! I posted a video a few months back of me making cold calls and setting up SEO appointments. Click here to watch the video. Anyways, a lot of people asked me to post the script so here it is. Keep in mind that this script was created for LeadLogica's intelligent SEO sales data (businesses who have recently dropped in Google) so feel free to edit it so it fits your sales strategies. Enjoy!

Hey (prospect name), this is (your name) with (your company). The reason for the call is I just noticed that your website dropped in Google from ranking #_ to #_ within the past week. Did you realize that?

Can I speak with whoever is in charge of marketing in regards to your current situation?
“Why?”: I’d just like to give them some advice on dealing with your business’s rank drop in Google, ya know go over some of their best options for completely free. Fair enough?

You’re already speaking to the head of marketing: Alright excellent! –

“No”: I hear ya, is it possible you can just set up a quick appointment between them and I? I’d just like to give them some advice on dealing with your business’s rank drop in Google, ya know go over some of their best options for completely free. Fair enough?
I’m certain we can get you back on page one, but just a quick question, how much of your business would you say comes from Google?
“None”: Well, in my experience, and I might be wrong, it’s about 10% for companies like yours which were ranking on the first page of Google – which is still a decent chunk of revenue to lose. Infact…

“Don’t know”: In my experience, it’s about 10% for companies like yours which were ranking on the first page of Google – which is still a decent chunk of revenue to lose. Infact…

Over 5%”: So this drop in Google will have a negative impact on your business, correct?
“No”: That’s great that you’re not to worried about it, I mean, it’s definitely something that can be fixed. Infact…

“Yes”: Well it’s a good thing I gave you a call then. Infact…
We recently helped someone in the same position as you regain their rankings and now that they’re not constantly fluctuating, it’s projected they’ll receive an extra 200 site visitors each month. Is that something you’d potentially be interested in?
“Yes”: Excellent. Which works better for you, tomorrow at (time of appt.) or tomorrow at (time of appt. #2)? Navigate to the “Lock in the Appointment” section.

“No”: I get it, you don’t want to waste your time. But if a quick 10 minute phone call could save you thousands of dollars in lost revenue, would you take it?
“Yes”: Excellent. Which works better for you, tomorrow at (time of appt.) or tomorrow at (time of appt. #2)? Navigate to the “Lock in the Appointment” section.

“No”: Navigate to the “Objections” section.
“Maybe”: Just a quick, 10 minute phone call to go over some of your options. Which works better for you, tomorrow at (time of appt.) or tomorrow at (time of appt. #2)?
LOCK IN THE APPOINTMENT

Alright, excellent. Once again, my name is (your name) and my number is (your phone number). I’m going to inform my guys about your situation right now so we can get to work on preparing some information for you, but if you could, jot down my name, number, and the time I’ll be calling you real quick. Do you need me to repeat any of that information?

Hey (prospect name), thanks for your time today, if you have any questions in between now and our appointment just feel free to give me a call.

OBJECTIONS

  • “We already have someone we work with.”

Which company are you working with?

You dropped __ places in Google, are you sure they’re taking your investment in SEO seriously?

  • “We aren’t interested.”

I’m with you, but think about this way: Taking 10 minutes of your time to talk with me could save you thousands of dollars in lost revenue.

  • “I’ll check with the decision maker and have them call you.”

The sooner we can talk, the sooner they won’t have to worry about their drop in Google. Is it possible for you to set up an appointment between the owner and I now?

  • “The decision maker doesn’t have time for this.”

The sooner we can talk, the sooner they won’t have to worry about their drop in Google. I’m just looking for 10 minutes of their time, I’m certain my team can fix the issue at hand.

  • “Email us some information.”

What information would be helpful for you? Give them the requested info right away.

Do you have enough information to feel comfortable doing the phone call?
The question here is not “whether”, it’s “when”. You know you are going to have to fix this issue, now it’s just a matter of doing it before your business is negatively impacted by it.

  • “No room in the budget.”

With your current situation it’s not going to get any easier to afford it later.

The cost of not fixing your drop in Google will be far greater than the cost to fix it.

  • “Didn’t work for us last time.”

I completely understand, I know you don’t want any more bogus deals and an SEO agency has already burned you in the past with rankings that didn’t last, but based off of everything that I know, honestly, I think we can fix this issue and get you back on page one with your business’s long-term success as the main objective.

  • “We don’t need SEO.”

The reality is you are going to have to fix this sooner or later – hopefully before you experience a drop in revenue. All I’m asking is that we set up a quick, no-obligation appointment between us. I’ll give you advice and go over some of your options. Sound fair enough?

  • “We already have enough clients.”

That’s great, you’re accustomed to the benefits of ranking highly in Google and being a leader in your niche… However, that’s not the case anymore, and once the effects of the Google rank drop set in you’re going to be desperately searching for more clients. Thankfully though, I’m free to help you out and go over your options tomorrow at (appt. time). Does that work for you?

  • Doesn't work most of the time. We call businesses in Australia and the UK regularly to fix appointments for our SEO clients. Most of the times, it is what you say in the first 20 seconds that work. If you can show them the benefit they have by doing SEO, it clicks sometimes. That too 1 out of a 100 calls.
