Gentlemans Club Marketing Ideas!!

A friend of mine has a "gentleman's" club in the UK and is struggling for ideas to attract local businessmen in the week.

For those of you in the US, I think it's fair to say that the "strip joint" hasn't quite reached the "social acceptance" that it has in the US and certainly isn't as mainstream.

I'm thinking some sort of membership and exclusive benefits so he gets recurring income on a monthly basis.

Thought it would be a great opportunity to test the marketing brains of some of the best!

All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance!

I too have a great friend that ran clubs in this industry for years. These clubs aren't all that accepted by most in the US either. Even high end clubs are seen as sketchy and most businessmen don't want anyone to know when they visit them. It's not exactly acceptable in the business community to become a regular in a place that employs what many view to be sex workers. The only people here that are open about hanging out in them are young guys and low class people.

Just my opinion based on close daily contacts with a colleague and buddy that just got out of the industry for moral reasons. You can offer benefits, but most business men are not giving you their info and entering a congruency program. You can charge their card under some other DBA, but no one with a brain is letting these people draft them monthly unless they are idiots. -Sorry This is one step off from having a membership to a brothel.

The guys here do highway billboards(when accepted) advertising on taxis and radio (when accepted) If there are tourist and business travelers then I think paying taxi and uber drivers rewards to bring them in might be a way to create some customers.

There are now websites where men go and get dates with call girls. These sites cut out the games of going to strip clubs and trying to talk a stripper out of her panties or propositioning one. Clubs are having to allow more and more filth just to keep customers coming back. Again, just my opinion, but hard to believe that most cities allow them. They are becoming increasingly difficult to open in many cities because they are havens for drugs and prostitution.

What's this about competition? Did someone else open a vacuum porn franchise in Wooster?

          This is true.

When I opened my first vacuum cleaner store in 1988, a radio advertising rep showed up, and I decided we needed a slogan. I told her it should be "If It Sucks, We Sell It".

She refused. Probably the right call. There are more churches than gas stations here.

Thanks to all that have answered so far and provided some good ideas.

Definitely got me thinking - like the taxi idea longrobnc.

For those who are going to take offense - It's clearly not the intention of the post so please, don't feel the need to post a reply if it's not got anything to do with the question.

I understand that they have a bad reputation and many times it's well deserved.

But please keep the ideas coming!

Well, it depends a bit what the business is actually about. When I hear "gentleman's club" I for one don't necessarily think of strip-tease or bordellos, but rather something classy, where good whiskey and cigars are served, good music and where people can come for a business meeting during the day and maybe stay till the evening when other types of activities are scheduled.

If that's not the case now, perhaps some re-branding could help? I'm also thinking press releases (online and offline), offline ads with QR codes that people can scan and check the website. Themed parties could attract both genres which would also help taking the edge off.

My point is this: if the general perception is that it's dirty, change it. Make it elitist and posh if that's what it takes.

One person and a couple of his recordings (epic, mind you) is your answer:

    Glenn Osborn.

He is off the charts and is all about UNCONVENTIONAL ways on how to market, especially when it comes to this type of industry.

However, he shows you how to take this offline and into a private setting.

PM me and I will send you his epic recordings on how to get Beautiful, HIGH CLASS women wanting to participate in a private setting with the Wealthy and Elite Men's High Class private parties.

You won't find this type of marketing information on the 'net.

    JMB

P.S. Before anyone blasts me, this is NOT what you think. I don't condone this type of behaviour, but if women decide that this is what they want to do, then that is their business. We cannot judge them. However, the type of information that Glenn provides, actually places women in a more comfortable and secure environment -- not a sleezy one.

This is where you are incorrect. I can judge them, and do. I have been out with several women that have confessed to being former dancers. In every instance, I leave them where they stand with taxi fare or cash to cover the tab and I head for the door. You don't have to judge them, but I reserve the right. They can do anything they like, but when they enter my realm, I treat them accordingly. Any woman that takes her clothes off and rubs her body on a stranger for a few bucks is trash, and I treat them as such.

Yes it is your call to judge others, but your probably standing in a thin line.

Many years ago when working doors with sales teams I set a girl up, who was an ex worker of the nights, for better words.

This girl was now married, had children and was one of the best people I have ever met. As I started to train this person, she continued to excel in every aspect of sales and grew to be one of the states top performers, generating thousands in dollars a week.

She was an inspiration to the other sales people around her and she often helped motivate and inspire, she was a dedicated and fantastic mum to her children and supportive to her partner.

Just glad I did not choose to judge a persons past in such a way to limit their future potential.

Well, you set the standards for who you deal with, and I'll set mine. You should also note that there is a huge difference between working with someone as a salesperson and dating or marrying someone. I can see how strippers could excel in sales. The gene for having no shame, decent looks, and the ability to do nearly anything for money goes a long way. You can choose to look past a person's history, but I am more selective. Banks choose credit history to determine the credit worthiness of an applicant, property managers choose rental history as criteria for someone's ability to live in one of their homes, businesses use job history and experience to determine if they want to employ someone. I choose to eliminate someone from my dating pool that takes their clothes off and rubs their bodies on other men for a few bucks. It's the definition of being cheap. Plus, I'm not going to be seen all over town with someone that every loser in the city paid admission to see naked. Call me crazy, but I have standards in this regard. I have options, and I exercise my right to be picky. I'm done with this utterly useless conversation. Good luck!!!

No not calling you crazy and already said it is your choice, given the context of your reply in regards seeking a relationships (and not sure how we got there) but most would probably feel like you do, my error, in that I did not know we were of to the chapel for a white wedding with the topic.
