Hello all,

Trying to do some "cold calling" using Skype. I can hear it fine on my side (microphone / speakers are great). I bought a headset from Logitech G430.

My concern is how it sounds on the other side. If they hear me, etc.

What can one do for testing to see if this all works OK?

Thanks!

Call someone and ask them what the quality is??

There is also a Skype testing service that should be available in your contacts where you can record a short message and they will play it back for you.

Internet speed, computer speed, and having a bunch of memory sucking programs open can all effect quality.

Thanks for the response. I ran the test in Skype - it all sounds great. I call people - they say "I can hear you" but I was concerned about how clear the signal was. Will look at your suggestions.

The simplest way would be to just call someone on skype and ask them how well they can hear you. I doubt you will have any issues since it is a new headset. Plus I am sure you have high speed internet so you definitely shouldn't have any issues

Skype has been letting me down a lot lately. Poor tech maintenance I think. Lately it is not even showing correct times after I have set them correctly.

    Hi there,

If it sounds fine on your side, chances are it would also be fine on the other side.... if their Internet connection and computer speed are at par with yours... Usually, the problem is not in your medium; it's in their reception.

If you are getting their voice clear on otherside and if they are not hearing you that means you are having problem at your end in the speaker

I do not think it's because Skype. you try to ask your friends to dialogue with another person can have problems such as dialogue with you not?
also may be due to the quality of the Internet anymore.

Hi, I always use the Skype Call Testing Service. It's very easy to use and it's usually already in your contacts. When you notice that you cannot hear your voice, go to settings and adjust your microphone. The headset usually works fine. If you can't hear the operator, you can increase the volume of the skype software under settings and also check the volume of your computer. When you've adjusted these settings, give the testing service another go and check if your audio settings are okay now.

In my case, I always ask a friend who's online or available that I do a test call. It's also part of our catching up process. I usually call my bf.

Skype call quality has been great for us! Definitely make sure you're Internet connection is consistent, you can always run various tests with your ISP's tech support department. Good luck!

Sim call yourself, friends and family or have them call you. Pretty simple to have testing done. Get a number and post it here and ask us to call you may also work! hehe

As he mentioned, definitely run a test call with a friend or family member if that doesn't work then call your ISP support to ensure your connection is strong.
