Survey: Any local business owners here? Got a question for you

Do you own and/or run a small business "in the real world"? I'm talking about a store with a physical address, a residential or commercial landscaping service, an auto repair shop, a restaurant, a medical practice...any business where your clientele is primarily or exclusively within a 50 mile radius.

If so...

Question: Where do you get your online marketing news and information?
(That is, what is your main source of strategies, tactics, tips or general information that you currently use to promote your business online?)

Do you:

A) Read certain blogs on a regular basis? If so, which ones?

B) Follow certain websites, forums, email lists, Facebook pages/groups, or other free online resources? If so, which ones?

C) Pay an outside consultant to advise you? If so, what's your avg monthly investment?

D) Subscribe to any paid services? If so, which ones, and what's your avg monthly investment?

E) Have an in-house person who handles that for you? If so, how much do you pay that person per month? (Give a range if you don't want to be specific.)

F) Not do any or much marketing of your business online? If not, why not?

Thank you for participating!

PS: If you prefer not to post publicly, please feel free to PM with your response.

    Cass, great questions mate.

I'd recommend starting at digitalmarketer.com. A ton of valuable free content there. LeadPages.com's blog rocks. As well as Copyblogger, Marketingprofs and too many to mention in this post.

The teams at DM and LP test everything and anything to give you what's working now and what to avoid at all costs. The WF has some good info too if you know where to look-but tread lightly, opinions are a dime a dozen, mine included.

Google is your friend mate. Take the time and research what makes sense for your business and choose one or two viable sources. Don't get overwhelmed.

In my opinion, save your money and scratch C,D,E and F off your list until you have a piggy in the bank.

    Jack
