so i started hustling again and studying marketing and sales. i've made alot of progress in the past week, i have some deals lined up although i think they are going to fall through.'

i make music videos, so i started networking on facebook and it actually worked pretty well.

i got tired of looking for people so i just decided to start calling music studios in the city, i told them id give them a referral fee if they threw some business my way and two businesses took my info down, so we will see what happens.

im probably going to start going into studios and start networking as well.

looking back i realized school does not prepare you to be entrepreneur at all. '

any motivation? i dont want to give up, but if a better job comes along ill probably take it

Honestly, it has nothing to do with giving up or not giving up. You have to understand that victory is in implementing the process. School obviously doesn't teach you to be an entrepreneur, it teaches you to sit in a chair and do what you're told, even if you're never told why.

What you're doing right now is giving yourself a job - that's what entrepreneurship is all about man, it's about creating your own opportunity by leveraging your own skills and capital to create value for others. That's exactly what getting a job is, except in this case you're going to benefit directly from your own skills instead of someone else doing so.

    Here's what I would recommend:

    1. First you need to sell yourself. Why would someone want to work with you? What is your value proposition? I would recommend determining whether you're going to compete mainly on price, quality, time frame, or some combination and then base your value proposition on that. If you have a demo video that you did, get it out there, that showcases your skills and would compel someone to send you work.

    2. Network. Networking isn't a magical thing. People that are movers and shakers in the industry need people with your skills. Someone is looking for you right now but can't find you because you haven't done a good enough job promoting yourself. Deck out your LinkedIn profile and use it to connect with people in the industry and send out samples of your work.

    3. Get a Job. Or not. Everyone needs money but find a way to not starve while pursuing your passion until you realize it. Be realistic about how much time you can allocate to making it happen and never take any shortcuts. I mean ever. Ever.

    4. Never take any shortcuts. This is the most important piece of advice I can give. Success takes time and it's a process, and if you build a shaky foundation for your project, it might crumble before you ever complete it. I know people that built successful businesses by producing their best work consistently for 3 hours per week. Lay a perfect brick every time and soon you'll have built the great wall of cjsparacino123.

I spent years trying to take shortcuts and in the end got nowhere. Treat it like you are building a business for the long run and put in a lot of hard work.

No other person than your self will motivate you, motivation comes from your own fire within.

As for your, I don't want to give up, but if a better job comes along line, that makes no sense at all, it is like even you do not have an understanding and are just tossing up words to look cool, you use the words prepare for being an entrepreneur, just ask your self this, do you think and entrepreneur uses the words give up, and take another job?

Why not take some time to really think about your future direction and get a clear understanding of what will be involved and then make a call, for now it may be just get a job and learn some more ? because right now you seem confused and just going in circles.

thanks for the wake up call, i spoke to my father, hes a retired business owner, and asked him did you ever feel stuck in your business and he said yes in the beginning. But he also said he wasn't focused on how much he can make this week, but how much he can make this week in 5 years. i realize im thinking way too short term. I'm going to keep networking and promoting, learning and reading, ill stop saying im a entrepreneur. but im going in with the attitude that hopefully 5 years the actions i take today will work out.

i also realized that when i took action last night and didnt get the results i was looking for immediately i started to doubt myself. but ill be alright, thanks everyone

Hey, your dad gave you some great advice. There are so many ways of thinking about how you want to proceed and how you can justify putting in the work up front that gets you to the end result. Online marketing, like any other business, isn't just a money machine. You have to identify a business opportunity by doing the research to find out where you'll be able to satisfy a need or fill a niche and make money. Then, you have to do the work that's required to enter that niche. It could be something like becoming a merchant because you see that a good that the market wants isn't available in adequate quantities, so you start importing it. It could also be that there isn't a great product out there that helps with a certain problem, so you do research and create it. Once you have an idea and you build it and sell it, that's a viable business model.

Once you've tested your model and you know you can repeat it, it's time to scale up and see how much market share you can grab. You have to research and test and then analyze your results, make improvements and test again. That's all you're doing!

Good luck with whatever direction you're headed, in your business and in life.

I believe one should go for that work or profession that makes him feel about what he/she is doing. And should enjoy doing that work rather than being frustrated or feel bad.

Elder people with great experience are a very good source for advice on such topic, you should also talk to someone trustworthy person in your life with good years experience.
