Looking for strategies for small town marketing

Hi there,

I will be moving to a smallish town very soon (80000 people) and I would like ideas of services I could give to local businesses. I'm more inclined towards the consulting/services area. I'm open to SEO, PPC services, but I would be open to other promotional methods as well, such as print for instance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey, I see you joined the forum almost 10 years ago, to the day.

    Happy anniversary!

In that time, there have been tens of thousands of posts, with the answers you are seeking.

    Some really great stuff, too!

My suggestion would be to use the search tool. It works really well!

That way you won't have to wait another 10 years to figure things out.

    Ron

Why not keep an eye out for businesses that could use a simple email optin funnel to help them capture leads for marketing their products, services and promotions etc.?

Not much different from big town marketing... What are you good at? What do your small town business owners want that they can't get?

In any case in the digital age, there's no reason why you can't do stuff for big town clients while living in a small town. I live in a village of 12,000 people in the UK and I have clients on the other side of the world... Most of my clients are outside the UK...

I like using some custom made lapel pins I get from http://www.pinsource.com/en/products/hard_enamel for my small local business, and I can recommend you to try it too. I don't think you have to limit yourself to just your town. It maybe a good starting place and then branch out. Or just go full on global by advertising your services on the net.
