Old School Lead Generation Dead?

I would like to know if the old way of getting leads is dead?

I remember knowing a gentleman that used to collect leads via offering a trip or a prize. He would put these boxes in all the stores in town. I remember him having a giant box at local fairs and flee markets. The information he collected was name, age, household income, if the had a credit card etc. He told me he used to get around 2-3 bucks for each lead. He sold them to an "unknown" guy lol.

Who would buy these low level leads?

So I am wondering if this is a viable option to make some extra money. I would like to learn more about the lead business so I can work my own hours.

Please any advice would be helpful. Thanks

  • It's working for someone.

The malls and expos still have people doing this.

  • Getting the right people to work on scrapping data for your leads is the key. Lead generation may be dead if the information you are getting are all wrong. When you hire people to do it, be specific with your instruction and tell them exactly what you want and how you want it.
