How do I write a business case for a software product?

I had an interview the other day for an account executive role at a company offering a shipment tracking software. As part of the selection process, I have been asked to prepare and present a business case for a prospective client(A very large electronics distributor) to work with that company. They want me to outline my research, strategy, and plan for landing the client.

I have no idea where to start or how long it should be. I have about 5 days to complete it. How should I approach it and get started? Can anyone offer some guidance? Any resources/templates? Thanks.

    when you say "Shipment tracking software" are you saying your software kicks in after the picking process? So your software say selects say the best method to ship.. produces a label, and kicks out say an e-mail with tracking info etc?

    Is there more to this? are we talking B2C shipment or interior logistics?

    As much as I understand you cant let the cat out of the bag as to whom you are doing this for, and for whom they want to land... the overall picture and scope needs to be narrowed down a bit.
