Who has created gift certificates to promote their goods and services?

In particular, how did you partner with hotels and travel vendors?

Please share how you did it, from initial pitch to the end result.

    I ran ONE ad, on Thanksgiving Day, half page in local weeklies.

    It was for a membership program in an indoor golf training facility. That ad brought in over 12,000 bux of new business a month before it even opened, it literally paid for the start-up costs. It was all about a gift certificate.

    Later, while promoting golf packages, I simply let hotels know I had 1200 members, and that was enough to get great deals and coupons and I got a % of any bookings. Win for all of us.

    If local, look for places where you might offer "IN KIND" exchanges for rooms or remnant space. In other words, you BARTER for the gift certs.

    I always use different gift certificates along with some promotional gifts like lapel pins for marketing my business. I have to say that it help a lot indeed and would recommend you guys to try this way too

    I hold MLM events in major cities (recruiting, training, etc) and negotiate with local hotels for discounts in exchange for guaranteed bookings. Attendees pay the equivalent of full hotel rates for the conventions, and the difference is used to provide "gift certificates" for deep product discounts, prizes, and sometimes hotel restaurant meals.
