40 cold calls

i reached about 5-8 decision makers.

1 somewhat interested. he asked if i was a big company, and things of that nature.

No appointments or sale.

here is how my script would go

DM: This is _______

ME:Hey how you doing this is XXX with XXXXXX may i speak with the head of marketing please.

DM: Speaking or What this about

ME:The reason why I'm calling is because i came across your website and i notice it's not mobile friendly, and i wanted to see we can possibly work together to get that fixed for you, what are your thoughts ?

DM:Im good thanks [hang up]

I realize that they can careless about their website not being mobile friendly, how do i set hooks and get their attention or get them somewhat interested in first few seconds.

the people i called seem very impatient and somewhat rushed(maybe because their business owner)

  • 1. tell them you will not waste their time.
    2. Ask them if their target market uses their phones? do you use Your phone???
    3. Ask if they know they're competitors are being told to go mobile
    4. tell them going mobile, because it's new, has a greater ROI.
    5. An Opening line : I was trying to look at your website on my phone and I couldn't.
    6. They don't want a mobile site, they want More Business. How can you help them with that?
    7. Qualify Question : If I had a new, but proven way, to reach your customer, would you take a few minutes to check it out?

good luck. with time, and calls you will adapt to say what is working for you and what is not.

Telling them you wont waste there time is probably one of the worst things you can say. Your time should be far more important then there's. When you say that you lower your status so low that you'll never close the deal.

You never told them why they should want to get that fixed. Why should they care about having it mobile friendly?

They are probably rushed because they get a billion phone calls from people trying to sell them things. I get a bunch of robo-calls over and over again to the point where I might actually talk to you if you were a real person out of sheer surprise, but honestly most people have better things to do. Remember, you're calling them and interrupting their day, they don't owe you anything, so it's up to you to tell them why they should care about what you have, and you haven't done so at all here.

I have been having very good results by cold calling but putting them into a sales funnel.

I right them up just offering free advice and then get their email so I can send them a link to an email captcha page.

Honestly, you should be able to convert their website to be responsive design for around $50 unless it is a huge website. Mobile is for the most part dead now...everything is responsive. I would low ball them on converting their website to show them you are real and then try to upsell them SEO, leads or PPC marketing.

Look up the forbes 500, and then start looking at their websites.. each and EVERY single one ( as in ALL 500 ) has a MOBILE site. Mobile is FAR from dead... Sure if you are on your laptop or desktop and look at a page, you can say "look, if I change the size of the screen the page changes with it... ok fine they are responsive.. but then go hit each one up with a phone... they simply are not the same site.

I would suggest that UX simply dictates the use of mobile design when targeting those using their phones. functionality, the use, and the layout is simply different all the way around.

Sell the money. All they care about is how it's going to make them more money they don't care about mobile friendly and probably don't even know what they means. And if they knew they needed it they'd have one. Pitch the benefit not the "thing" If you were to just say...

Reason for the call I help Pizza places ( or whatever it is) generate more revenue online and I wanted to call you back on Tuesday to share an idea with you, what time you gonna be around?
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11151512].message }}
    • sounds great to me as an opening. Real, straight forward, and sends the prospect the right message - More REVENUE!
And, do you want to check it out or not.

      good input SalesGod.
to quote another God, tom cruise who said, "show me the money".

      Have a great weekend Warriors!
