Direct Mail contact management

Hi all,

We do a lot of direct mail campaigns, and we have a ton of contacts in our database. Upwards of 30,000 plus.

Right now, we utilize Excel to manage who is in there, who we've mailed to, and what mailings we've sent them. It's pretty cumbersome.

Wondering what others use? Is there something made for this? All I need to keep track of is name, address, list source, mailings sent (which and when).... and that's about it. Anything more than that would be a bonus. And I need to be able to export to Excel after selecting criteria to build my next list.

Any thoughts?

      I've not. Are there any cheap or free products that do this? A CRM package will give me much more than I really need.

    Since you already have the data in Excel format, you might want to investigate getting someone to code a MS Access database and front end for you.

    I have used Interspire email in the past. You can export to CSV from Excel then import it to Interspire as a new list.

    I used to use Access, but it got cumbersome to track which mailings have gone to whom. And Excel isn't much better, but it's easier to navigate for peopel that are not well versed in Access.

    I've not checked out Interspire, but it looks like a whole CRM package?

    Jonkovach, Interspire e-mail is e-mail centered. You don't have to follow a particular workflow.
    You can focus on sending your e-mails besides handling your lists.

    I've been using Sales Force for more than 15 years. We have a database now approaching 700,000 active contacts, which is managed through the cloud across all devices and wide geographic areas by my distributors. It's perhaps the most advanced CRM platform available anywhere that I'm aware of. Although not cheap, the learning curve is short and largely intuitive, and they have a 30-day free trial.

    Has Interspire effectively abandoned development on this product? There have basically been just minor updates for quite some time.
