What types of offers can fit inside a sales funnel for a local business?

With online sales funnels I see the potential for courses, memberships, and maybe high margin physical products. On the other hand for a local business I'm not sure what to include in their sales funnel other than their service offer. I'm targeting beauty salons and financial planners and in both cases my funnel just aims for the appointment booking.

What other types of offers would you include for low volume local service businesses?

I would use funnels for local business as a way to grab peoples info (email or mobile phone number) to send discounts, deals, coupons, ect.. Basically to build their marketing list. Alternately, for a beauty salon you can offer a deal similar to a groupon. Sell one of their services for 50% off or more as an introductory offer. For a financial planner I would create some kind or report to give away, "Secrets to stay on track for a wealthy retirement" or something like that. Combine it with a consultation.

    • Agreed however want you want to do is have maximise revenues.

You will always have different people

      1. People who want done for you service
      2. People who want to learn and do it themselves
      3. People who want dfy and dwy (done with you)
      4. No action takers

This is how you can do it:

Lets assume you are marketing your service as a marketer for Beauty Salons.

      So,

      1. You capture their detials and offer free consultation
      2. If they book a call with you, you sell your service

Now the ones that don't this is waht you do:

      1. Offer a FREE training course specifically for Beauty Salons that shows them step by step how do it themselves, and within the training recommend tools and softwares that you can get a commision from (this offer you put within your follow ups after 7 days)

      2. Create Advance training programmes specifically for Beauty Salons for example, how to market your beauty salon on twitter. This way you will create many different courses based around beauty salons.

      3. On your site where you offer the free courses have targetted banners for that specific lesson, so for e.g. if you are teaching them how to make a sales funnel, advertise "let us make the funnel for you", when you are teachign about FB ads "let us do it for you"

      Hopoe that helps.

You can probably add more, but get these done first.

This way the people who want DFY, and DFY and DWY, and done on my own are all catered for.

Have you asked the businesses you are working with?

Most businesses make their greatest profits from their existing customers and most of that profit comes through loyalty and repeat purchases.

It is always tempting to think of maximising the sale by offering any number of relevant services and in some circumstances this is a logical upsell or cross sell to something that will benefit the customer at that point in time.

These upsells are often best done when in store but you could think about pre-selling the additional services.

Pre-sells can help by preconditioning a customer to a specific service but you should err on the side of caution or at the very least test any pre-sells or upsells on a segment of the businesses clients to see how they are received.

It is very easy to come across as pushy if the wrong approach or multiple wrong approaches are made to someone who only wants the basic core offer.

It makes sense to say someone buying a vacuum (Claude can weigh in here) to offer some replacement bags or filters or offering a bundle to a prospect.

If you are going to offer a bundle it should make sense and represent some tangible benefits to the prospect and at the same time improve profits for the business.

This is why I suggest you ask your existing customers and develop any funnel or sequence based on their suggestions and their customer's natural progression.

The easiest sale is always going to be to get a repeat purchase or to get a two-for type offer.

With beauty salons it might be a Mom and Daughter offer...or Hair, makeup, nails etc

With financial planners they will often try to get referrals and perhaps there can be some incentives...but that is where here is a fine line you may not want to cross. - If someone is happy with a service they will often refer people later.

Asking too soon can sometimes be counter-productive.

There are numerous offers and host-beneficiary type stuff you can develop.

Look up some of Jay Abraham's old stuff.

Talk to your customers and build things around their ideas.

    Best regards,

    Ozi

I would say that in the case of the Beauty Salon, going after setting an appointment might be a bit of a loser... Depending on the Salon... there could be an exclusive product line, there could be wigs, there could be nails.. hair coloring.. etc etc etc. Make the funnel about the end user.. hair tips, or coloring tips, or how to this or that... get the e-mail address.. then drip in e-mails that offer value ( tips ) and "suggest" the shop in each instance. don't have time, cant get the color right.. hard time hiding greys come see us...

BECAUSE this is local targeted.. offer in the e-mails a listing of all things "targeted" IE in the case of a beauty Salon most things girly... craft shows wedding shows.. kids trick or treat functions etc etc etc not only do you offer product value.. but you are offering local community value.

The financial planners... I would be using facebook to target this... I would be changing the magnet based apon AGE... from targeting young why you need one... to targeting older.. rolling over 401K's etc your clients should be able to give you an idea of the age breaks, and the more specific needs.

For ME. I treat localized funnels like branding in many ways... get your name seen... get people on your mailing list high value content - get them talking about the subject amongst their peers - and with some luck someone with in the end users circle of influence is a person or people that have heard of or use your client.. which increases greatly the odds of them calling your client.

You will find that for say the Salon clients may come quick.. the financial advisor.. there may be a bit of lag in response. the required trust levels for each are vastly different.
