I have a friend who needs to buy phone numbers from various Texas cities for marketing in Texas . Does anyone have a good source?

    Sounds like your friend is running, or wants to run, a call center.

    I don't have a specific source, but you might try looking for list brokers you can ask for referrals.

    A quick Google search for "phone lists for telemarketers" turned up several possibilities. Make a list of possibles, then compare their offers to what you need. "Auto dialer phone lists for telemarketers" also turned up some possibles.

    That should get you started.

      Ah, I get it. You need the area code plus first three digits to identify the correct redirect. Clever...

      I know the post office has a reverse lookup for zip codes. Perhaps the phone companies might have something similar for AC+3? Or the White Pages publishers?

        Nothing that clever -there are scripts that do that part. We need to purchase the correct numbers so we can display local numbers in each localized page.

          If memory serves, aren't area codes and exchanges set by the FCC (or some other government alphabet agency)?

          If so, that info is likely public domain. You may want to inquire about access to a database or license.
