Any idea how to find relevant trade shows?

I'm in sales and have been tasked to find relevant trade shows that we can either attend and walk the floor or sponsor and exhibit with a booth.

We have an ad platform that caters to CPGs and Agencies in the Food, Health & Beauty, Quick Serve Restaurant, and Retail niches. I'm having a hard time finding events that arent just open to industry professionals (eg. For health and beauty I found https://www.ibsnewyork.com, but it's only opened to licensed industry professionals).

Anyone know of any shortcuts to finding good shows for sales opportunities?

Best regards,
S.

    Yes, you are missing something.

When an event is limited to "industry professionals", it means you actually have to be working or licensed in that profession.

In the example the OP gave, the event was likely open to licensed stylists, salon owners, makers of related beauty products. An ad platform does not qualify.

Steve, you might have to two-step this.

Use Google to find the various industry and trade groups.

Contact them directly, asking about which shows you would be welcome at, as wellas how your company might become recognized as an "industry professional".

Using you beauty example, if you have a product or section of your product dedicated to the beauty industry or subset (say, independent salons), you could make the argument that you really are an industry professional.

You could also enhance your case by submitting articles to trade magazines and journals.

Not all events are that restrictive. Some will allow anyone with the fees to take a booth or buy a ticket in. Others are much more liberal in defining what is industry related.

The other possibility is that the OP may have simply disqualified himself. He never did say that they refused him, just that the description specified industry only.

Las Vegas used to have more conventions than any other city...I'm guessing they still do. Do a search for things like:
    Las Vegas Convention Center Schedule
    List of Las Vegas Conventions

Do the same for other popular convention cities.
