How to get repeat customers for a food truck?

Hi,

A while ago I asked how to advertise a food truck.

But an even more important question is how do you get repeat buyers for a food truck.

For example, my first goal is to get 50 new customers from a FB ad every time I change cities where I sell my fish.

So, in one city I need 50 physical customers buying my fish from FB, in another 50 and in the third, etc.

Then I need to get let's say 15-25 repeat customers from those 50 in every city until I get a base of at least 100 repeat customers buying in a time period of 1 week.

What are your strategies?

Many thanks,
Ralfs

Sell them fish they think is great at a price they think is great and make the transaction an easy process.

It helps if your advertising attracts people who buy fish again and again.

For instance, good Catholics don't eat meat, except for fish, on Fridays.

Owners of restaurants that sell fish dishes buy fish often. If you're too small for restaurants, find people who sell fish sandwiches from their lunch food trucks.

I don't know how things are where you are, but around here, if you go outside factories at lunch times, there's one or two food trucks by the gate and workers come out and buy a sandwich or two from the trucks. Those kind of trucks, if they sell fish, need it again and again, no?

? I must be going crazy reading that question, in that it was even asked in a way, maybe it's an old age thing coming on?

How to get repeat buyers at your food truck ? Lets see

Sell not good but great food that people talk about to their mates (resulting in more natural customers).
Sell that great food at a fair price / value for money.
Offer the very best service with a smile.
Learn peoples names and greet them by name on each visit.
Develop a simple loyalty card, buy 5 coffees get one free. (you can put the name here on the card making it easy to remember over time)

The List Goes on and on, just ask yourself why you would return to a business ?

A place I go to frequently has a buy 6, get 1 free offer for drinks, desserts, and several other items. I've gotten numerous free items over the years.

Yes, the promotion costs them money, but they recover the cost by upping the prices of their entrees. If you're in a competitive situation with other food trucks, make your entrees different in some way that appeals to your customers. If your food is good, people won't mind paying a little bit more.

  • Offering some freebies / discounts can get you more customers but as mentioned above by other warriors, people come again only for the quality you offer. And next is your loyalty.
Social media is one great of advertising to bring them to you

  • The main thing is be in the same place on a consistent basis. It's easier for repeat customer's to find you if your in the same place at the sametime on certain days. We have a taco/burrito truck here that does great business in a Menards (think home depot) parking lot on Thursdays 11-2

Not trying to be funny here but try and find a movie called Chef my reason for this is what how they market the truck and watch the way how they prepare the food

They also had good marketers as advisers

They then show the actors doing the right marketing for the truck in the movie

They made the movie either during the Iron Man 3 or after as it has the same actors in Chef

    Hi, @Ralfs

Given that you sell in different cities, aside from selling quality fish, what is necessary is you establish easy access and contact with first-time customers to make them regular ones. You need to present yourself like you are their go-to food truck.

Maybe have an email sign up sheet at the counter or side of the truck asking them to sign up to receive discounts on specific dishes. Introduce new dishes and other food/health related content. Add share links to share your content. Ask them to rate the food they ate and post the ratings on the food truck. Maybe get some comments and put them on the truck.

I'm just brainstorming here. Hope you can get some ideas from this.
