Online Printer for direct mail postcards?

What online printer do you use for your direct mail postcards and online printing needs? I have done some searches online as well as here in the forum and most of what I found here on the forum is from years ago so I was hoping to hear some more up to date recommendations.

I will probably be printing 9x12 postcards though I am thinking of trying something smaller. The online printer I have found does a 6.5x12 or so but it is only a little less than the 9x12 so I would likely go for the bigger one if that is the case. Thanks!

I believe you were pointed to Bob Ross. His prices are great. If he's not the absolute cheapest, his experience in supplying you with exactly what you need and the quality he provides should outweigh the nominal savings you might find elsewhere.

Do you want to produce a high-quality product that advertisers will buy or the cheapest piece of crap you can find? Trust me - if it's the cheapest, it's NOT going to be the best.

Think long and hard about that. Your success and future might depend on it. If I live to be 100, I'll never understand the fascination with people wanting to do everything relating to their business at the absolute lowest price. Maybe it's me, but I buy the best of everything and I happily pay more for it. Why? Because it's more than an expenditure. It's an investment in the future growth of my business by always having a better product than my competition.

When talking with a prospective client, I always ask them their most important consideration. If it's, 'getting the lowest price they can find,' I give them the phone number of another company. I thank them for contacting me and let them know that when, 'the best quality at the best price,' becomes the most important thing to them, I'll still be here. Not sure about the company who's phone number I gave to them.

Have I lost business? Yep, but none that I wanted or needed. The problem with people with that mindset is you can't make them happy. They want a champagne product at beer prices. Like I said, call someone else. lol You can call that arrogance. I prefer the term, "Supreme Self-Confidence." Bill Ziff, Jr., taught me to think this way. Yes - I know. Not a single person here, knows who he was. lol

I've seen Jake's cards and I've seen cards from other printers. You can probably guess how I feel about the comparison. I owe Jake nothing other than honesty. This is NOT about be looking out for Jake. It's about trying to help YOU.

I've got nothing else to offer as I don't think we're on the same page - literally or figuratively.

Thank you for your reply. I did look into the stuff from Bob Ross when it was recommended but everything I found was from years ago. I looked at the Bob Ross forum and the latest posts were years ago so I thought I would ask for some up to date recommendations. I do indeed want the best quality for the best price. I do want to save money but I also want good quality which is why I was asking on here instead of just picking the cheapest one I found online. I figured people that had done the 9x12 on here had some experience with different printers.

I will try messaging Bob Ross to see if he is still active with the printing. Thanks!

I'm saying Jake, "Bob Ross" too.

Especially starting out because he will prevent costly mistakes
    that online printers won't.

He can also do a "done for you" prep service
which the extra charge spread amongst the advertisers is
not going to be noticed by your advertisers.

Also I recommend joining his Facebook group,
get hooked up with one of the groups designers.

    Best,
    Ewen

And here is a link to his pricelist:

    Print & Mail Pricing

Says, "Members," so I don't know if you have had to purchase any one of his products to get those prices.

You would help yourself a great deal by looking at possibly picking-up one of his offerings. They are killer. I have them all as I had a friend that wanted to pursue this and I told him I would help him get started. Unfortunately, he was a dreamer, not a doer.

I kept telling myself that possibly I'd do it, someday, but wound up retiring before I could give it a serious test-drive.

Ah, to be young, again. lol

He also has a Facebook group, though you might have to buy something from him to be a member. I just checked and it appears to still be active.

Also look up the High Response Direct Marketing Podcast. I just checked and there are 39 episodes there where he's talking to people that have filled cards. DON'T think that you need to listen to all of them before taking action. That's just a delay tactic, but do use it as motivation and learn from them.

Thank you both for the links and information. This is very helpful. I will contact him. I agree with you that using someone that knows their stuff is probably way better than a random online printer. Thanks!

Going to an online printer like Gotprint,
    you are on your own.

    If you make a mistake,
it's not going to be checked
    as it's automated.

It could be the image pixels,
it could be the spacing from the outer edges,
    it could be a misspelling.

    Jake checks them
for you before it goes to print.

    Best,

Thank you. These are very good points. I am definitely going to try to email or message Bob Ross when I am ready. I got the idea for the 9x12 from his posts and your recent posts have given me more enthusiasm for the project. First I need to sell the spots.
