I have just started a sock brand and I have agreed to send out some goods on consignment to a new retail customer, in this situation who normaly pays for the postage?

Usually, you'd be expected to pay any shipping costs, unless you could arrange to have the goods delivered to the retailer's warehouse/distribution centre.

You're a new and untested supplier. A consignment deal is probably the only way you'd get your goods into many retailers. Once you establish a trading relationship, you can negotiate costs, but really - for items like socks, you'd be better off incorporating any shipping costs in your selling prices.

There is no official written that who will pay, but as it is your start it is assumed that you will pay for that
