Thinking Inside The Soap

I was given a bar of money soap for Christmas. Money soap is a clear soap bar that has a plastic pouch in the middle that holds either a $1, $5, $10, or $50 dollar bill.

The odds of getting anything but a one dollar bill are not listed.

Money soap is a living example of thinking outside the box.

A bar of soap is a commodity but here these people figured out how to get a bar of soap into stores across the country. Not only that but these bars sell for $15-20 retail. They are selling a cheap commodity at a huge markup!

If someone can figure out how to make a bar of soap into a truly unique item that gets non traditional distribution, huge profit margins, and makes buying and using it fun then it goes to show that the same thing can be done with almost any product.

Anyways.... I thought it was pretty cool and inspirational.

Old scam made new. Great scene in DEADWOOD about a guy selling soap with a prize in it. Seth made him pay.

Anyways, when Pope John Paul II died, many companies were ready with products...including the Pope on a Rope bar of soap.

How about OLD celebrities on a rope, those with images now considered public, how about a Clint Eastwood "Felling Lucky Punk?" soap, or a Jack Nicholson "Here's Johnny" soap.

Soap is a cheap commodity, which has made fortunes for those who create something new, IT FLOATS and 99.44/100% PURE, has made Ivory soap a household name for over 120 years.

Thanks for the twist on an old evergreen product.

Homemade soaps, and how to make them is also an evergreen topic.
