Do any of you own a popular franchise, such as Subway, UPS Store, etc?

If so, what do you own?

    I own a Keller Williams real estate franchise. Although I maintain a real estate broker's license, I'm not personally involved in listing or selling.

      Do you continue to pay franchise fees even though you're not invovled in listing in selling?

        Selling and listing is only part of running real estate brokerage offices and managing teams.

        I pay the standard franchise royalty fees, plus ad co-op, professional associations, MLS, etc.

        Generating leads for my in-house brokers and agents is my primary focus.

          I use to then went independent.

          It was a lawn care franchise.

          I learnt how to get and keep clients
          so I didn't need the franchise anymore.

          When I left them, 100% of the clients
          came over to me.

          So much for their branding pitch
          they give.

    Franchises are also independently owned and operated, but the advantages of having a proven system, leveraging economies of scale, and networking can sharply reduce the learning curve. For example, teenagers can be trained to run a McDonald's franchise.

    I hate real estate, but it's easy money. As a KW franchisee, all the heavy lifting has already been done and I have professionals and consultants on call who have a vested interest to provide specialized insights on navigating the ever-changing marketing landscape.

      You feel like real estate is easy money? I assume you mean how someone is always looking to buy and sell and the only challenge is getting in front on those people and getting them to choose you as an agent - which isn't that hard.

    Yes, it's perhaps the easiest money-maker of all, and a powerful lead generator for my other enterprises. People need a place to live, and move somewhere else every 3-7 years on average.

    I have a content marketing system that drives massive quantities of buyer and seller real estate traffic and maintains daily contact throughout the buyer/seller transaction cycle. Most of this process is automated through article syndication in demographically targeted online/offline publications and autoresponders which is supplemented with extensive direct mail, telemarketing, seminars, open houses, trade shows, door-knocking, flyers, etc. It's easy money for me because there is hardly any competition that comes close in my marketing areas.

    P.S. I also make lotsa money from many of these same prospects who don't buy or sell real estate from me.
