I wonder how one eats with a mask on...?
I wonder how much more likely you'd get contaminated while pulling the mask down to take a mouthful...?

People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

This is really important to fight against Corona Virus. Then only takeaway is possible. No dine-in.

People in general tend to overreact with 'things' and the mask situation is a good example. You can't eat with a mask on - or drink - you don't need masks when you are outdoors by yourself or in your own personal car.

Yet I see people alone in cars with masks on - have dealt with 10yr olds afraid to remokve a mask out of doors....while in the stores many have pulled their masks down below their nose...yeah, that really works.

Common sense once again in short supply.

In the USA, from memorial day on - there have been large gatherings of people in the hundreds and in the thousands with no or rare face masks - all close together. If we don't see a spike in the next two weeks in some cities and states - the pandemic would seem to be over for now, at least.

      I hope you're happy.

With the authorities' response the past few days, they can't impose a lockdown now (or perhaps ever) without looking like hypocrites.

They signalled that every Tom Dick and Harry can have their own corona-protest, and the police chiefs will bathe in a sea of covid-19 with them.

A spike in new cases is already showing. Those who wear a mask inside restaurants and stores are completely outnumbered by the masses of crowds without masks outside.

I don't see the 'spikes' - the same US states that had over 1k cases a day still do (4 states) and there's no appreciable rise in totals.

I guess you can't protect people from themselves - so if they 'spike out' due to failure to take precautions...can't stop them. Just stay away from them.

Perhaps the sudden rise in cases may be due to better testing, but the death toll is rising

Cali still in the 2500 new cases range and I think much of it is in the testing. The more important stat to me is the death rate. Yesterday 29 deaths in NY and 66 deaths reported in California. That's not nearly as frightening as the triple digit deaths of a month ago.

Yesterday only 4 states showed over 50 deaths - that's huge progress as half or more had single digitis reported. The next two weeks will tell the story.

Sometimes optimism is dangerous. I read a headline somewhere that said COVID does not care you bored with it.

I really want the people that think COVID is ending to get out there and have as much mask-free fun as you can but sadly that means taking others with you.

    I miss San Diego!

Lobster Burrito, Chunky Chicken Burrito.. salivate.

And the place is so freaking Clean! Beautiful. Year round average temp like 69-70 degrees OMG.
But if you a City person SLOW MOTION!

Just does not have that Flava of the Big City.....walking down the street and boom a fashion show, puppet show, dancing lessons, concert. Open all night. Well ...used to ha.

Downtown San Diego they could not even have street vendors. You just wish you could transport 200 of close friends and relatives from the East Coast there then perfect. All in my Humble.

Not so friendly anymore. Wearing a mask while in public areas (inside or outside) within California is now mandatory, with misdemeanor fines for non-compliance can be up to $1,000 in most areas. Those not wearing masks are now barred from entry into major retailers and restaurants.

I have come to realize during these hard times, how rebellious human nature really is. By now, almost everyone in the world must have realized that wearing a mask is a necessity if you want to stay safe, in fact it should be the new normal now yet most people don't wear masks merely because they consider it an inconvenience or because they fail to understand the severity of the situation and think that it is not very important.

What people need to understand is that health and safety should be prioritized before inconvenience. If you find it hard to eat with a mask on, then don't dine-in, take-away instead, adjust to the new normal.

I live in Gaslamp San Diego and they have outdoor dining everywhere. They close off 5th Ave and people are dining out in big numbers. Masks only required until you sit at your table.
