So, over the last few days I've been visiting Bing a little more.

Bing started using ChatGPT, but that's not why I was visiting...I was there to claim a business listing.

I was surprised to find that there were tons of listings that hadn't been claimed by the business...

I actually like the setup Bing has...but that's a personal thing I guess...

got me thinking that if someone wanted to make some extra money they could help businesses claim these listings. Most business owners are too busy or don't know how to claim their listing...or aren't aware of how ChatGPT may change things. Seems there isn't a shortage of businesses that need to be claimed.

I know everyone has focused on Google, but now Bing is becoming a serious contender. More and more and starting to use Bing. Most businesses aren't aware they need to claim their listing. It's time to make them aware and help them.

Simple to do. $20 bucks, $50 bucks...

I don't think you'd run out of customers.

Just something I noticed. There's money there if you work it.

Get out in your community and make some extra cash.

      If I were looking for work I would use it as a foot in the door. Wouldn't even charge.

      Takes like 5 minutes of your time to help the business claim their Bing Listing...then since you're already helping them with something...

    You'd be better off getting a job stacking shelves in supermarket or other minimum wage job.

    Rolls Royce don't do freebies.
    Rolex don't do freebies.
    Ferrari - you just about have to beg them to sell you one of their cars.

    I think it's Rolls Royce that do a little toy car. Costs more than a Ford Focus!

    From memory, last time we did this, we made 5k on one side and 15k on the other. 20k for the same sort of time and effort you'd make maybe 200 bucks! :-)

    OP in that thread could've been rich beyond his wildest dreams, yet he didn't even say thanks! :-)

    Truth is, the client is unlikely to see much difference in sales with a Bing listing. A few years back I got quite a few One Box listings in Google for clients. Most barely noticed any difference.

    Another example. I'm no writer and certainly no copywriter, however back around 2010 I wrote an ad and persuaded a client to run it on the basis he would pay me a percentage every time he used it. Over the last 13 years I've averaged around 10k per year - 130k for not much more effort than you'd make 50, 100, 200 bucks... And it doesn't look like that's going to end anytime soon...

    How did I write the ad? I took an example from a copywriting course and I replaced the product name and the benefits, starting with what I thought was the top benefit, until I ran out of room. Result was awful.

    So I left it for a while and went back and tweaked it a little. Repeated this until I had something I thought was pretty good. Took maybe 7 -10 days elapsed, less than a man day actual work...!

    And we went on to do more for him as well... I always look for repeat sales and usually get them without resistance because the results tend to be noticable! :-)

      I agree, if you live in an expensive country. However, if you can use it to get a job from a USA company (so, you charge USA prices), but you live in Moldova... them peanuts is more than what your average guy makes in a year.

      Most people, especially beginners, do not understand the value they bring (if they know their stuff).

      And, therefore, do not charge enough.

      When I began, I was like them... talked to relatives of friends who had a business... Got hired by one, got paid some (so I had proof of concept) but got a lot of headaches (lots of complaints... why is this costing me so much... why aren't you doing xyz, my friend is doing it and making a killing).


      But, once I had proof I could deliver, I went for a real (non-connected to friends or relatives) business. Charged 4700 (for what took me a week to deliver).
      The guy agreed to my price without blinking... and I knew I undercharged by a lot (I got to know him and about a year later I found out, he was expecting me to ask 7500 and to argue me down to 7000).

      But, if I lived in Moldova, I'd take 1000/a month and live like a king (as long as I stayed in Moldova... or Nigeria or Belarus or... you get the point.)

      A couple of huge major holes I see in your argument...

      first, Rolls Royce, Rolex, and Ferrari have spent billions in advertising to attract customers. They will also give products to celebrities to advertise for them (free).

      Some time ago Maserati sent me an invitation to test drive their Levante for a weekend and see how I liked it. Wouldn't you think they were trying to get me to fall in love with their products?

      Let's take Canva since I was working on something there earlier...a 6 billion dollar company with a free offer. Use it free forever. Don't you think they're counting on people to upgrade?

      I could go on and on and on talking about companies with free stuff to try and entice the user to upgrade.

      So, I see some major flaws in your 'don't give stuff away for free' theory.

    I have been thinking about trying out some AI content writing for websites I build for clients or maybe even lead generation. ChatGPT seems to have changed the game.
