Offline Marketing Videos - ClipArt question

I've seen a lot of the big IM guys using these great 3D, white, almost alien-like characters in their launch videos. Andy Jenkins did this in The Video Boss. So did Jeff Walker with Product Launch Formula 3.0 and the guy from Crowd Conversion.

Does anyone know where they find these 3D, alien-like images? I've looked on Clipart.com - and a few other sites - with no luck. The one site that did have a few dozen were priced at $10 an image, which was pretty steep.

  • You can find those on sites like www.iStockphoto.com and www.fotolia.com.

    Go search for 'gold character' on fotolia and you'll see all the images Andy Jenkins used in his VideoBoss launch videos.

  • Yeah, just about all of those types of images can be found at iStockphoto.

    But before you start digging through their normal search function, do yourself a favor and start looking in the "dollar bin".

    They have all kinds of images there for... wait for it... a dollar. Suprise!! (Who would have thought, with a name like dollar bin)

    Anyway, start the search there and look for those types of little dudes and you will come across them

  • Does anyone know if the clipart at clipart.com can be used for videos that are for commercial purposes? I know they can be used in manuscripts, pdfs and other documents but I wasn't sure about videos.

  • Just to throw another one into the mix, take a look at Presenter Media - PowerPoint Templates, 3D Animations, and Clipart for Presenters and Creative Professionals

    I haven't used them myself, but just learned about them recently and they've got some nice materials from the looks of things.

  • You can always just hire someone to do this type of video for you, although it does depend on your budget.
  • As always, make sure you look at the licensing.
    See that they are allowed for commercial use without any kind of credit or anything.
