Ok - is this a worthwhile niche?

Ok guys,

Here is the deal. I am looking to buy domain names, slap some info on them, and then, sell or rent them out.

What do you think of the "painting" niche in a town of roughly 30,000 people? There are 9 house painters in this town.

Realistically, what is this worth?

I did a BETA test this summer using the house painter niche and found the demand isn't as great (or as busy year round) as picking a niche with year-round clients like the health industry, lawyers, etc.

There are literally hundreds of niches you could pick and the more popular may be the hardest to get up in the rankings. I think some of the services industries may be a good start.
Use a niche that you know something about would perhaps be the easiest way. It takes much more time and effort if you have to research the niche you want to use.

I would check the monthly search volume(google keyword tool). I would not touch anything with less than 1000 searches a month for the kind of project you are looking at. To the offline client, one critical reason they have a website is to generate leads. Remember, even if you get #1 on page one of google, you will only get a portion of those searches.

A better project might be to look for "ugly" sites in your area, make a nice site loaded with local keywords, and then call up businesses and offer it for sale. You can do this on a business-by-business basis, or generalize the site per industry.

House painters are booked by summer time and actually do most of their marketing budgets in November - December (at least here in the midwest).

I also found out (from the pro house painters I talked too) that they consistently pay about $30 for leads on jobs.

dear you cant simply start earning by slapping info on the domains,
    slow and steady.......
so start with little steps, in other words you have to spend more time and more effort on your doamins or webcites before presenting them for rent or sale. the more your input would be, the more outstanding outcome you would get.
