FREE SEO SCRIPT FOR LEAD GENERATION!

Here's is "A" script you can use, kind of off the cuff based on some scripts I have used over the years for lead generation if you offer SEO. Enjoy! There are different styles of pitches...This one is "assumptive" style. Flows real nicely on the phone.

Hey Bob this is John Durham calling for __________________, Listen; real briefly , we are just shooting out free traffic reports to all the local biz owners on their websites, and I wanted to make sure I had your address correct so we could shoot one out to you, are you still at___________?

Okay great and whats your web address bob?

Awesome, you folks getting alot of visitors?

Okay well maybe there's something going on thats keeping people from seeing your site... could be a number of things, usually its something small, no big deal... you are showing up on google right?

Okay, well, we'll check into it and let you know whats going on.

Back to the reason for the cal...Im gonna go ahead and have them work up some stats on your site , and get that out to you... here in the next day or so...

Was there any particular questions you had that we could answer for you while we are at it?

Okay, I'll make a note of that.

Bob is this the best time to reach you on the phone here in case they need to call and ask you any questions?

Okay great, well I let him know that, and if you dont hear anything within a day or so from us that means there's no issues and your site is running smooth, they wont call unless theres a reason for alarm or something you should know...and you should be getting your report within days, by the way do you have an email address we can send that to? It may get out to you quicker...

Great.

Thanks Bob! We'll talk to you soon.

No prob... like I say I owe a hell of alot more to the warriorforum than $37.00! You know, no matter if I have my own telemarketing forum or not, or wherever I go in life... Im just like a kid who moved off to california away from his parents, who forunately got some good training at home.

Allen is the big daddy, and I wont forget where I came from, and the people who helped me become that.

The WF has been my silent encouragement for ten years now, and has helped me pull off the most amazing things throughout those years. I owe this place alot... even for having the courage to start offline telemarketing rooms that made hundreds of thousand of dollar...even the online liquidation thing with Alibaba... It all starts here for many! I am one of those.

    This place deserves my best!

I hope someone gets a sale from this!

      Good morning John,

I don't know you personally, but you sound like a really solid person and someone I could use in my corner to guide me. I was wondering if there are any additional legitimate and honest SEO tactics that are not really explained online in leveraging free search engine traffic, besides article marketing, online video, social bookmarking, forums and blogging. If you have any pointers sir, please feel free to either reply to this post, or DM my inbox. I really appreciate you and hope to hear from you momentarily =)

John you give away too much good stuff. I'm sure that many of the others on this board appreciate your help. I hope to be able to contribute here someday with the energy an expertise that you have.

I like the way it starts out asking them some questions to feel out interest for your services. Hooks them with free and gets your foot in the door.

    Thanks again,

Even if you haven't created the report yet, the perception is that you have already done something for nothing and the owner isn't getting to decide if they want it or not.

Past tense is much better then future tense.

      Great stuff John!

Whats even more amazing is that at the end of the call they forget all about your greeting and give you an email and phone number to send report to!

Its easier to get someone to walk ten miles with you one mile at a time, than to say "Will you walk ten miles with me"?

Hi Supafly, I look at it - this way.

" Cold call 30 businesses for two days " and get 6 clients. Afterwards, build out the clients or outsource the cold calling, when revenue is coming in.

Then, you dont have to cold call any more.

Cold call is always to me, just a starting point....not a business model - as other warriors see it.

If thats why you got in cool, as long as it produces business for you. If not, then maybe you got into the wrong sector of internet marketing... offline generally requires contact with customers.

John, thanks for the great script! I love the way you present this and can see how this could be far more effective than many typical approaches.

One question - what site do you recommend for finding traffic information? Quantcast? Compete? Any others.....?

C'mon, who said anything about not being in contact with customers? Of course offline businesses require it, but that doesn't mean cold calling. SEO, local business listing, social networking, mobile phone marketing and email markeitng provide plenty of ways to generate business without having telemarket.

Look, John has a great point here, cold calling is certainly the fastest way to get to new clients and if you don't mind the rejection, then the more power to you. But, I do fine without it - and yes, I have plenty of customer contact.

Cold callling isn't for everyone and internet marketing is a good way to make good cash without having to pound on doors.

Well I think internet marketing is actually not for everyone because a lot of new technical terms that people must learn and not everyone has time to study it, but for making a cold call I guess everyone can do that, as long as he can talk and have a telephone.

Last time I checked, people still did business with other people. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of cold calling... but it does work. John and I have debated about this in the past. My position is that there's other, more effective ways to market based on a 1:1 factor of the time spent. Surveys across all of the B2B world show that the effectiveness of cold calling telemarketing is dropping. Even Dan Kennedy shares this view of cold calling.

HOWEVER... it is a way to do business, and a cheap method of entry for one-man shows to get started creating sales selling services to other business owners. I've certainly done my share of it in the past.

You can pull up a mixture of alexa rankings, check out their keyword usage... examine their ad copy, meta tags, back links competitors... usually they are impressed enough with the alexa info to have their attention... most people sites arent performing, and there are obvious reasons, finding something wrong , and also something right (key) usually can be done within 2 minutes and you have an arsenol of info to report when you call them back. Not to hard to wing it, because there will be obvious things.

If the telemarketer gets all the way through that pitch and refers the lead, chances are the person is gonna be a semi "lay down" to close.

Based on the way this is set up, would you have the TM use an autodialer or would this be done with good old fashioned manual dialing?

It looks like the telemarketer would need to have all the pertinent data on the business when they make the call.

    -Scott
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[2713610].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author John Durham
Honestly Scott, an auto-dialer is a luxury... In residential calling it's a necessity, but in b2b , EVERYONE ANSWERS THE PHONE.

The main ORIGINAL purpose of an auto dialer was so Tm's didnt waste their time listening to answers machines all day.

I also recommend an auto dialer if you are hiring TMS "virtually" only for the reason that it allows you to monitor them and track their hours...

But if you have em in house, just print out the leads and dial manually. You get just as good of sales as long as they are dialing consistently and not playing, half the day. The printed leads have all the same info as the ones you load into a dialer.

Dialers are good for monitoring, training, and creating a pace... all things you can do manually , unless, again, your TM's are working virtually.

However, you can set your dialer up however you want and feed them whatever info you want... the important thing is having a custom list that only shows people "with" websites.

You probably know a thing or two about that.

Hey, I am gonna need some lists next week. You ever get that sorting thing figured out?

John, great script... thanks for sharing. I'm new to Warrior Forum, but am a very seasoned local internet marketing consultant.

I really like the presumptions your script makes when engaging the prospect. I use a similar approach to "demonstrate" value before i even meet w/ my prospect. I do a very complete web analysis for the biz owner.

I use the following in this order:

    a) Website Grader - Perfect for evaluating SEO prowess and comparing to competitors (big thumbs up)
    b) Alexa
    c) Quantcast
    d) Compete
    e) Screenshot from Google 1st page for a few obvious local keywords to determine where they rank

I then do a couple of quick Jing vids to demonstrate my findings and set my follow up meeting.

    Works very well.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the great script, John. By being helpful and offering to provide assistance upfront with absolutely no implied request for payment, you're really disarming the customer and getting them to lower their defenses.

What does your free report that you send them typically contain, by the way? I imagine you'd send them the report first via email, and then follow up via phone?

I use to hope that too! Back then nobody wanted to know what I knew... I didnt really want to talk about being a telemarketer on the warrior forum, because I didnt want people to think I wasnt important, everybody has all these blinging sales pages and testimonials... I felt very insignificant even though I loved this place.

So maybe they wanted to know back then too actually, and the truth was that I just didnt know to speak up!

Everyone has their time and place. There is a place where we ALL fit like a glove, and we all have a moment with our name on it!

Just gotta be ready JUMP!!! When yours comes. lol

I'll bet you will share all kinds of things here that will help others if thats your heart! You will be surprised how much you already have to offer, even if its only encouraghement, until you find your place. Thats alot to a person who needs it. Just a kind word can be someones turn around... Or sometimes a kick in the pants!

Been on both ends of that one in my time at the WF, and either can be enlightening.

      Nice thought. Cya Round!

Makes me want to post another script... maybe later though.

If not free then what about a software available for a one-off payment that can do this?

Does anyone know of a free seo report service that can be re-branded as your own? Woo rank used to be an option but they soon changed their ways.

If not free then what about a software available for a one-off payment that can do this?

      Thanks
      Hi,

This is a link to a post on SlideShow where someone posted a downloadable copy of her own SEO Report. All you have to do to see it is be a registered member. It is free, and this is NOT an affiliate link of any kind. The link to the report is the one that says 'SEO Analysis Report format.' Once you register, it can be downloaded. I registered and downloaded it. It is a Microsoft Word file.

      I hope that helps.

        Hi John,

Thanks so much for all of your pearls of wisdom. It is really generous of you. I am bookmarking them all You really could put together the definitive manual on offline marketing/cold calling. It would be cool to have them all in one place, all of your threads/posts that is.

        Thanks so much once again

Question for you guys that have used this script and subsequently sent out traffic reports to biz owners:

What did your report look like? What format? Did you just type up an email and send that or did you put together a pdf document?

I have a tendency to get too caught up in the details and making it look *pretty*. I am learning that people don't care as much as I think they do about the aesthetic beauty as long as there is good quality information and value added to their lives.

I'm working on putting together 10 for different companies that I called today and Friday.

    Thanks a bunch!!!

Thanks Tracy411!! I'll be modeling ours somewhat after that one! Really appreciate the help.

Anyone gotten feedback that they gave too much info for the customer to be able to go thru? How have you bridged that gap? I'm thinking about just asking them to bring up the email when I do the follow up.

    Other good follow-up ideas?

    Thanks!

Use the KISS method and you will be fine... don't leave the prospect scratching their head.

You can't teach physics to a 6th grader.

If you do. They will get confused and not do anything. Keep it Simple.... and you will be fine. Narrow it down to the core of the point you are trying to make and then get the appointment or sale. Whatever your close may be.

I have been away from the forum as of late due to activities within my own business. It is such a pleasure to see Falkanators Wife still around... I remember when she got her first deal. She was so close to throwing in the towel, but didn't give up when the rubber met the road...

      Awesome... and inspirational.

Wish i had this script when i was first starting out. I had a phone, printer, efax, a website but no script. I'm thinking to refer my cousin to this page so that he can use this script to launch his consulting biz.
