Regional Landing Pages

Hi

I have a question related to the optimising of web pages for a company that is targeting various towns/cities.

For example lets imagine I have a client that wishes to optimise for the following terms:

yoga classes washington
yoga classes chicago
yoga classes denver

If the website had 3 landing pages that contained nearly identical content to cater for each of those keywords then presumably the duplicate content penalty could be an issue?

So what is the best way to do this instead? Do I need to create unique content for each localised page? Or is there another way to do this?

Any advice would be great - thanks

Make sure the title and description of your above main page relate to that particular city but their is no reason if you have done your research the keywords couldn't be the same, just add the city or county in your keywords as well as anything else that you deem relevant.

As for the content their is plenty of duplicate content on websites but to ensure you won't be penalized by Google ... re-write the same materials or spin as they say ... then you will have fresh new content. And if you are using an autoresponder opt-in series, just call it something else and change up the form to make it look different.

Does that give you some ideas?

That is not true and I am not sure where or who gave you this information about duplicate content.

You advice on page titles is sound but the duplicate content problem comes in to play mostly when its the same page more the once on the same web site.

With that said why not just 301 redirect the geo targeted domains to the main web site. As long as the site says we service this areas, bla bla bla no one visiting is gonna get pissed off about arriving at a different site url.

So if I created 10 pages to target 10 different cities eg yoga classes chicago, yoga classes washington etc then I would need to manipulate the page content to be different for each page?

I know that Google wont penalise duplicate content on different websites (it can't really because of so much syndication) but I thought that duplicate content on the SAME website would be in danger of being penalised. Are you saying that it is wise to spin the content to avoid this?

Try to make more research on how to make and powerful Landing pages.

In that way, you can learn more to improve you site popularity also.

What I would do is to create a header that captures the leads no matter what is the location, nevertheless I would create separate pages for each geographical location with original content.

Our Customer is Tyrehouse sells tyres ( Australian Spelling)

You mean like Ford Tyres Lane Cove

You do this using posts and target all the regions

Try it with Manly, Dee Why, Bondi or pretty well any suburb in Sydney Australia.

Not necessarily all no 1 position but pretty well all on front page.

I run a lot of campaigns like that. Your titles / descriptions and city information will make it a unique page. It's also a smart way to target there is a good amount of searches that are city + service format (and vice versa).
