Qualifying prospects?

How do I qualify prospects during our first phone call/meeting? What kinds of things should I ask them? Anything I should watch out for?

Thanks

First, you need to define who your ideal client (business) is. What are their revenues, how many employees do they have. Sit down and figure that out and then you will know if they fit the profile.

After you have the profile, be sure to contact businesses that fit within your profile.

As for when they contact you, ask them a few questions to gauge what they need and what their level of interest is. If they seem like they are really not interested, cut them loose and move on. There are too many businesses out there that need your services to waste time and energy on those that don't want to work with you.

I always ask, "what are you NOW doing to get clients...Yellow pages, coupons, advertisements, offline online, etc?"

Then ask, "How well is that working for you?"

"What if I could show you how many people are searching for your product/service right in your local area and how we could attract them -- and get them coming to YOU by phone call or website?"
