Presentation for poteintial clients

I've been reading this section with great interest lately, and I'm hoping for a bit of help.

I'm looking for some ideas for some type of presentation I can take to potential clients. I don't have any current clients, but I feel as if I need something to show them.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can put together to show these people what I can do for them? Basically, I will be offering SEO services to them; I will specifically target businesses that have a site with no current optimization and offer to rank them higher on google (1st page) as well as increase their Google places listings.

I also like the idea of giving them something (such as build a list for people looking for car insurance quotes and give this to a local insurance agent and tell them I can do that for them each month; but I cannot implement this tactic until I land my first real client, which I have a GREAT lead on, I just want to have a plan before I setup the official meeting)

I've been teaching a friend of mine who wanted to get into the offline business 'game' and the best way I found to show him was to purchase a local keyworded domain e.g. plumberbrighton.com

I worked with him and helped him rank the keyworded domain in Google and once completed he was then able to show this website as an example of his web design and seo work to new clients. If you have the time to do this, I'd highly recommend it.

If you don't then an idea such as giving them something for free would help to establish you as the expert. You might want to think about giving them a free Google Places listing or something that isn't too hard for you to setup but it still gives them a lot of benefit.

Edit: I forgot to add - with the above method, after you've made the website and ranked it, using it in your portfolio - you can then sell/lease it to a business in that industry, generating more revenue

This WSO from Kevin Koop is a great free book you could give away to local businesses to entice them to signup for your mailing list.

It's not a presentation, but the ideas in the book certainly help sell the idea of getting SEO help for ones business.

I feel like I've seen a WSO that included an SEO presentation you could use as your own, but you'll need to do some searching as I can't seem to locate it now.

    Good luck!

Having done the od presentation or two but mainly to groups i designed my free guide (in my Sig) to be read 2 ways in that it has an all in take your time approach to read it or you can read it by just reading the bold.

/ 2 stories in one / it took a little while to write but you will get the idea if you read the guide, (read it all then read the bold) and what i do on a presentation is read the bold to the group and they can keep the whole printed copy.

The current guide i have needs an upgrade for some new stuff and is ever evolving so don't stress about getting it correct out of the box / just build a starter then update and improve it as you go.

Your subject matter is different to mine but feel free to swipe any of my info if you can use it.

    Cheers
