Some Info That May Help You With OUTSOURCING.....

Hi Warriors,

I recently ran a training program for offline and one of the modules was on outsourcing and how I built a team etc.

Anyway, I remember when I first setup my biz and looked at outsourcing. I was obviously worried about getting it right, finding someone I could trust and who could deliver what I wanted.

Just to state,

I outsourced my Web Design service offering from the word GO! One of my first clients wanted a website with SEO, and I outsourced the Website. It went smoothly and since then over the past few years more and more of my business both on and offline is being outsourced.

So, I thought I would give a couple of important tips on outsourcing your services and how I do it!

Here goes, hope it helps some.......

1. How To Find A Web Design Outsourcer You Can Trust!

My first job was outsourced, and the team I outsourced to then (nearly 3 years ago) is the same team I have now. They handle all Web Design and Programming I need (including any maintenance).

I found them on elance......

Its simple, everyone has a profile and you can check out reviews, previous jobs and who they are etc.

Now, to make sure I outsourced to the right company, and someone I could trust I outsourced my own consulting website! ; )

Rather than risk a clients site with the first job I outsourced, I risked my very own consulting website. This way I got to test everything my team did, from contact, to professionalism and cost. Doing this allowed me to test before I trusted with a clients site!

If you already have a consulting site, or don't want to outsource yours, you can outsource a dummy site. Use it to rank on Google for an example anyway!

Its important to TEST befor you TRUST, and it is very easy for us to do that!

Also,

By having one team when it comes to Web Design makes it easier in the future for updates and maintenance to clients websites!

2. Spread The RISK!

This is a huge rule of mine!

This relates to SEO outsourcing.

My thinking with outsourcing SEO and all the components that come with SEO is to not put all my eggs in one basket. I didn't want an SEO team as such, I wanted to build my own, through different freelancers.

Some SEO I do myself especially research and sometimes content, but links get outsourced!

Rather than trying to find one person to build all your links and having to rely on them to deliver, I outsource different links to different people. This way, if one fails to deliver, it doesn't bring the whole house down, it pretty much doesn't effect a thing.

Its easy to find different people, so you have:

1 guy that writes and submits articles....
1 guy that builds profile links.....
1 guy that builds web 2.0 properties.....

I am sure you get the picture.

All of these people are available RIGHT HERE in the warriors for hire section and thats one of the places I find mine! ; )

Outsourcing is very simple, even if you haven't got any experience with it. Just do your due diligence. TEST AND SPREAD THE RISK!

Doing this has enabled me to build a mass team of outsourcing options and for the best price. It has also allowed me to feel completely comfortable and confident in my ability to deliver for offline clients! ; )

It has also enabled me to focus on scaling my business and on what I am best at.

Start small and build up. Walk before you run!

For example....

Don't take on a website design job that needs extensive programming and design as your very first job to outsource. Start with easy sites for example and build up as your relationship with your outsourcers grow.

I turned down quite a few big jobs when I first started because they were just too big. I wanted to be comfortable with the business and my team before I tried to outsource a mammoth site.

DUE DILLIGENCE - TESTING - RISK SPREADING

Hope that helps some.....

I have had some of my best luck outsourcing here on the Warrior Forum. I have had mostly mediocre luck with those freelance sites.

    Hey Mike,

Yes the WF is a gem for outsourcing especially SEO stuff like links!

I have been hit and miss with freelance sites, however sites like elance and guru tend to be full of outsourcing companies and this is where I found my web design team. Outsourcing companies tend to be more organized and professional than freelancers from freelancer sites such as odesk for example!

Interesting pointers here, GoGetta. How nice of you to share. And I do agree, some of those freelancers (on some of those sites) can be quite disappointing.

Thanks Jamie for a great post.

I've had pretty good luck on ScriptLance for various tech needs. You have got to vet them... check their reviews, websites, etc..

Still looking for content writers that understand and are fluent in American English for intelligent articles that are well researched, website content pages and free report/autoresponder series type stuff.

Any good recommendations on the above will be appreciated.

I agree gogetter, it can be very daunting at first, if you get burn't once it can put you off trying again. Happy to say that I have had no bad experiences thus far.
