Unique Business Card Ideas for Offliners...

I was re-thinking about how we as offliners should express ourselves
on our business cards.... whadda ya think?

I feel "partnering" with Google will help (That's not ME below)

You could have the image on front, and then your contact info on back...

Local business owners know the power of "Google" and so it probably makes sense to connect yourself with Google -- even if it's on a biz card.

Any other ideas ????

I've done well sending letters that contain a screen capture picture showing how the business doesn't appear on the first page for their target listings.

As far as a business card, its an interesting idea. Definitely different

That's an interesting concept, I've seen that done for post cards, but not business cards. It does stand out from the crowd which is important.

I like it. Especially if are ranked #1 on Google.com

      It's solid and believable proof.

Seems very interesting and unique. It will definitely catch people attention since it's something they're not used to seeing. I might have to give it a try to see if it works.

I like it, but I'm not sure about the legalities of using Google's trademarked logo in commecial support of your business. I'd be clear on that before going to print.

I agree with Mark, you'll have to check the legalities around using the Google logo etc.

But it does get the attention and focus, nice idea

What legalities are there to check people?

You are using the trademarked logo of one of the top corporations in the world for personal commercial gain and, on top of that fact, you don't work for Google, you don't represent Google, you are not a legal partner of Google, and you don't have permission from Google.

              Google Permissions

Would be kind of like me putting the Bank Of America logo (without their permission) on my financial planning company's letterhead and business cards.

              Attention getting? Yes?

              Crazy Idea? Hell Yes!

But hey, I'm not a lawyer, so what do I know?

Not a lawyer her either. But the context is important. The examples above do not imply endorsement. Its simply showing normal usage of their website. Screenshots and nothing more. Seems very legit to me. Again...not a lawyer. Get sued at your own risk.

Guess you didn't bother to click on the Google Permissions link I left in my post. If so, you would have read, directly from Google, how ALL of the above examples of their material being used on a business card would not be permitted.

                  Google Logo or Screenshots

                  Screenshots
You don't need our permission when you want to use a standard, unaltered Google screenshot (an image of our homepage or search results page) in either print (book, magazine, journal, newspaper) or digital (web page, DVD, CD) formats for an instructive or illustrative purpose. Examples include screenshots of:

                  • a Google search results page
                  • search results indicating where sponsored links are
                  • an Advanced Search page
                  • search results for a query you show

This use must be unaltered: You can't superimpose graphics, photos, or ad copy on the screenshot or change the look of the screen-captured image in any other way.

Please note that using a screenshot of a Google search results page in connection with advertising your products or services (for instance, showing a top ranking on Google) is not considered instructive or illustrative, and therefore is not permitted.
~ JoeCool (again, not a lawyer, but if I were, I'd be a Cool one.)

P.S. I'm not saying you can't get away with it, so let's all not get into a pissing match, just pointing out the facts directly from Google for those interested.

I agree. I think it's interesting, but to position yourself as a partner with Google in this way is EXTREMELY misleading and could lead to some legal trouble. I would consult an attorney before trying this method.

I don't think you even need to worry about the logo. Everyone knows that listing format is Google's. A bit of a halo effect maybe, but the potential client will get the message.

I have seen some great business cards around the net
and I must say, the artists are very creative. I love the
    Google idea.

Here's one that I just found, that I am sure you can use.
