"city" shopping.com? Good site for a local directory?

Well first, there are not a lot of cities that are available as a .com (miamishopping.com, newyorkshopping.com, etc) but I have found one for a city with close to 100,000 population.

Is this a good domain for building a local directory? I was thinking of offering a full page and monthly video commercial service (based on a popular offline video wso currently running) for a monthly fee.

Good idea or not? How much to charge? Any ideas would be welcome.

The "directory" discussion is going on in another section of the WF. I was
going to do a WSO, but just don't have the time.

Every LARGE city has a "best of" site. You can definitely do a spin on this
for the smaller cities because usually only the big advertisers are included
    in the "best of."

That's your incentive for getting businesses or subscribers into your
directory! Angie's List charges $29 for a year. Instead, think of a way to
pass this fee onto businesses and you'll have readers AND advertisers!

also remember that you have no overheads so a $29 feet can be halved and you just underPrice your competition
