New Client Yesterday: Here's The Video!

I was working on a new strategy to get offline clients and let me
tell you; it works!!

I didn't want to share it until I was sure.

Anyway, here it is. I'll show you how I just got a new client
yesterday.

Here's the video I sent him...

Rhino Web Consulting Reviews

He is a Vet in Indiana. He called me up SO excited that I took the
time to make this video for him. It was literally 10 minutes after
I sent him this video that he called me asking me where to send me
the money!

Needless to say, this strategy works!

You need to work on the video abilities just a bit more though.

That's great, I have seen more of these video types lately and people seem to be saying they work. I need to give it a try here soon.

    Thanks for posting the video.

This was my first try at it and it worked great! I will redo the intro and outro since they weren't perfectly done. I just wanted to get the video out quick.

I'm sure if I did a video a day , at the end of the month , I will have at least 5 new clients!

This method is pure gold! I couldn't sleep last night because I know how much money this is going to make me!

What price did you close him at?

I've actually started this tactic as well; targeting clients in the $5mil - $10mil annual revenues so they can support my prices/fees.

I actually love this tactic as it's a great way to build rapport and trust. To get the big dollars, you need that out the gate. We have a recent client that wants to take us to a trade show and all rooms paid for in Vegas - and we've only talked with him 3 times. Each time we do, we're building rapport/trust/credibility with our ideas/strategies/tactics we want to implement. He's been qualified already (annual marketing budget of $100K) so it's worth out time to build that rapport.

There are so many SEO companies that are slamming the phones. Ever since the loan market crashed, those call centers switched to SEO services and it's killed that industry. You can't label yourself an SEO anymore, has it holds no water. You have to establish yourself as someone more.

I've done some cold calling recently and one great tactic I've used to start building rapport/trust is saying "I'll work for free for 5 business days". I then go on and say I'm going to great an media presence online - I create 2-3 videos and get them ranked in Google in about 7-15 hours. After that, I call them back and say, "This is what I can do for free - now let me show you what I can really do".

Jamie Garside released this techinque as the Nuke Offliner method. I picked up a couple of clients this way. IMHO, it takes too much time and effort for the reward. There are better methods of obtaining new clients.

There is value if you have someone on the hook and need that extra push to get them to sign with this.

I'd have to disagree. It all comes down to targeting your demographic. Yes, if you're going after clients that are paying $300-$500 a month, this method might be a little tedious. But if you're going after clients in the $5k-$10k mark, it's definitely worth the time investment. The big fish aren't going to hand over there budgets to the first person that picks up the phone and calls. You have to court them...make them feel special and show them you're trustworthy with their money.

    ...it's a lot like dating.

It's certainly worth the effort if someone is willing to pay me $400 per month or more! You can only target clients that are willing to do $20k per year with you.

I sent the business owner an email with a link to the video.

I certainly agree IF someone is willing to pay that much. Therein lies the problem. I'm only stating my opinion based on my own personal experience. Your results may vary.

Obtaining one client this way and posting what a great way to prospect is not conclusive proof that this method is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's another method. And it can produce results.

      It's just not for me.

Congrats my friend, thanks for sharing the great news. Just remember to tell your friends what you do so that when they are talking with other friends they can take advantage of any opportunity that might arise to make some referrals for you.

People are always asking friends who they know when they are looking for something to get done. Word of mouth is great advertising...and its free!

A perfect example happened to me not that long ago. I created a site for someone who was program director of the organization. A colleague of hers saw the site and wanted her site done over as well because she was told about our service. This is almost like a snowball effect. The more people who see and hear about your work are going to want in! good luck

Nice! Just another tip too, you could always burn the video review to a DVD, and then hand it out or mail it out. Granted, this will up your financial/time costs, but if you have several "qualified" business owners, these costs will be a drop in the bucket compared to your residuals from landing one client. Not to mention, a DVD might peak even more curiousity from the business owner. Plus, if they're local, it gives you a reason to swing by their business, build rapport, etc. You are giving them something of value right away regardless, which is the best "lead generation" approach IMO. Once again, congrats.

    - Jim

ps. Yes do let us know how your testing goes with this method over the next few months.

    Hi Steve,

He contacted me via email through my website. I haven't tried selling to vets, but this is another decent market outside the usual doctors, lawyers, and chiropractors.

    Congratulations on the sale!

This is a great example of how videos don't have to be perfect to sell. Most business owners are completely unaware of how easy it is to whip together a quick video and post it online. Even a rudimentary video is enough to impress the client and help you to stand out in your market.

The only thing I'd suggest is to add your picture to the initial slides so that the prospect can "put a face with the name". Then add it to the ending slide so that they know who they are calling. This helps to humanize your marketing process. Unless of course you have a really bad picture....LOL

Using video reviews is a good way to get clients, I agree. There are a lot of good methods.

I agree with Adam. When you spend time building rapport, with the right prospect, you get FAR more than $300 a month!

If you can position yourself as a consultant that can help in a number of areas, then you can almost write your own ticket. Take the time to target the clients you want... not just anybody out there.

I was making $1500 per month with my ft job, so when I can double my income overnight doing this, I'm happy!

But you are right, my new goal is going to be higher paying clients. I'm going after $20k per year clients now. I just need to do a bit of research to find my exact target customer.

Do you send these out to prospects without them asking or have you asked tehm first if they would like a video consultation?

Great approach. Only had the time now to have a look at it. I've created a generic one where I get prospects to sign up to view a video that shows them how to do basic keyword research in Google External Keyword Tool and they see how many customers they are "losing" per month.

    Video sells. Thanks for sharing
