Google Places Plus Organic Merge - SEO?

Hi Warriors

Most of you on here would agree that the latest round of changes by Google have led to a "fair bit of uncertainty" for many Warriors focusing on the offliners market.

Lets' put together a list of SIMPLE steps that can help them out.

We will start with:-

1) Fully optimised GP listing including 10 photos and 5 videos

and we will leave spots for anyone else who wants to chime in with extras
2) You need a page one ranking property. Hint it doesn't have to be a web site - suggested by k60mall
3) How about making sure entries in local business directories (i.e. Yell.com, Thomson Local) have the matching descriptive business name as GP. For example "Smiley Norwich Dentist" - suggested by Flexsolve
4) Put your map on your site, have a link on your site to your places page - suggested by Riz
5) If you name your image file names as the keywords you are targeting, it certainly helps give you an edge - yourkeyword1.jpg
Also, I know some people targeting local domains still buy .org or .net - usually because the .co.uk .org.uk .au or wherever you are targeting, is taken.
To tell Google that you are a .org but looking to target a specific demographic - simply log into your Google webmasters account, verify you own your website and then click settings. Select that you ARE trying to rank in a specific demographic and then tell them where. Obviously this will help you get a merged listing. - All adds up - Suggested by Steve Holmes
6) I've noticed alot of professons have fairly complete profile pages on high pr sites you could probably backlink aggressively,. (aka findlaw. ) - suggested by attorneydavid - re2) above
7)
8)
9)
10)

I could tell you how to make a fully optimized maps listing that before the change would basically garuantee a map listing as well as often make 1 boxes . But now the problem with the merge is, that you have to have more than that to get on the map. I did a listing for a dentist that was 100 times more optimized and complete than any on the map, but i still cant get them on there , unlike before they would have been on there within hours based off of the map listing. Now i have to do citations, reviews , and seo to their website and see if that works.

I've lost 90 pounds(160+ overall) fasting since January 2016 after failing for years on diets that just made me sick and miserable. Check out Prudently.com where I'm writing about fasting and weight loss. Get a Brandable Domain Name at Name Perfection.
