What program has met these criteria the best for you?
  • Detailed training on how to acquire offline clients
  • Detailed training on how to perform each task that you need to know how to do before getting your first client.
  • Comprehensive training on local keyword research, article marketing, blog commenting, forum commenting, press releases, profile links, and other ways to drive traffic and backlinks.
  • Twitter marketing
  • Facebook marketing
  • Google places
  • Review sites like Yelp,Merchantcircle,Yahoo local etc.
  • How to outsource , backlinking, article marketing, blog/forum commenting, linkwheels, video creation, and other things that need to be outsourced. (detailed instructions and videos to give to people being outsourced to.)
I'm looking for the most comprehensive training, even if it is spread over several training courses.

Jack Mize Offline X Factor is pretty decent. Does not hit all of your needs but does a pretty good job. Not sure if it is still open though.

I've previously bought programme after programme, hoping to find the MAGIC BULLET.

However, in the end I accepted that this like any other business is going to take DETERMINATION and PERSISTANCE to make it work.

Most of the courses were pretty common sense. This forum is actually better source of ideas than most of the courses that I have bought.

From my experience, what you really need to do is a) have a business & marketing plan and b) keep on trying until you close a few deals, as in the long run all of your business will be from referrals.

    Hope that helps

The only one that ever benefited me was the one I was willing to apply.

That said, my observation is that most people in the "offline" business are selling picks and shovels versus actually doing the business.

The best course (person) to learn from is:

        (1) Someone actually doing what you want to do;
        (2) Someone doing it in an extremely profitable way;
        (3) Someone with systems you can leverage; and
        (4) Someone willing to teach you the 2-3 secrets that are 80% of their success; (this is the hardest to find).

I started as an "offline marketing consultant" in 1983.

        Back then, it's wasn't "offline."

You where a marketing consultant. You ran an agency.

The #1 skill was marketing, client development and retention.

The same basic skills are needed today:

        (1) Marketing - position yourself as "the guy" to work with in your market, generate leads, build relationships and enroll clients. If you can't sell, this is not the business for you.

        (2) Delivery - build a system and team that delivers excellent value over and over again.

If you want to succeed in this business, here are a few things to consider:

        Be honest with yourself.

If you don't have a passion for this business, if you can't wait to talk to a business owner about their dreams and frustrations and how leveraging the Internet can help, save yourself the frustration, move on to something else.

        Learn from proven practitioners.

You don't learn this business from a course on how to be a consultant or from someone selling picks and shovels, you learn from proven practitioners most of whom you'll met at industry seminars most "offliners" don't know about. The "knowledge transfer" is relational and takes time.

        Get in the market.

        Nothing trumps intelligent, focused action.

        Make mistakes.

        You will. Make them fast.

        Make your first dollar.

        Doing is the real learning.

        Stay hungry.

Bottomline: my best advice to anyone who truly wants to succeed in this business? Find the most successful consultant in your area. Go to work for them. Make them a lot of money. Learn everything you can. Then, 18 to 36 months from now, apply what you learn in a non-competing market with their blessing. This always works, 99% are unwilling to do it.

        Hope this helps.

Each of these bullet points are their own animal in and of itself. Cherry pick a system that works for you. Senoff's HMA system is golden.

It appears you are sticking strickly to online stuff for offline clients. I think that is leaving a LOT of money on the table. Don't be stuck as an "SEO" guy.

Senoff also has HIMA which concentrates solely on IM stuff as a door to bigger and better things.

There are also two great forums committed to offline consultants:

    offlinegoldforum.com
    offlinepro.com

Senoff's HMA course is amazing and has helped me tremendously with my consulting.

I have the course which is actually for sale (as new, lots of extras and a HUGE discount) as i've moved to a more internet related business model. I think its about $4000 or so these days.

If anyone is interested PM me.

At a price tag of $997, I have a hard time swallowing that large chunk of change. I have hunted for reviews from others on the forum but have found only a few.

Now Kevin Wilke from Nitro Marketing has Financial Freedom Marketing Machine out. My guess is that it is a remake of LBMM , but I Don't know for sure.

Are these really good programs or just really expensive?

I bought into all the hype about AP . People left and right on the forum were singing his praises. I coughed up $297 for his supposed university level education training in offline marketing. About the second week he became really flakey and not delivering what was promised. We got excuses ranging from a bad back to a power outage just to name a few . After a few weeks people were getting fed up. AP finally got booted from the warrior forum after enough people complained. We only recieved about 1/4 of the training and then AP dissapeared never to be heard from again. I requested a refund but never got one.
I get really weary of purchasing really expensive training anymore. Thanks AP for making me not trust people again.

          Hello,

I'm going to try to be as polite as possible, but as one who invested in LBMM, if you have't already, STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM IT AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN!!!

Kevin's system, program, teaching is a bunch of fluff and hype. I couldn't believe that one of the training techinques to get customers was watching a screen capture video of him surfing the online yellow pages.

I invested in this system and it is not very good at all.

I also invested in the Main Street Marketing System which was much better but frankly, if I could invest in only one program with one person it would be Andrew Kelly's Internet marketing Consulting Coach |Local Marketing Mentor | Main street marketing Coaching

Andy's been doing online marketing for offline business for the last 12 years and has an extensive sales background as well.

In his training he holds nothing back.

By far it has been the best experience I have had.

          Hope this helps.

    davidkimball makes a good point.

Online marketing to offline businesses is truly a goldmine. There is so much that can be done for businesses in this area. Additionally, once you have a client on board getting leads for them and building a list, it is a simple matter to sit the client down and show them the OTHER things you can do for them!

That is the TRUE power of the "Online/Offline" model.

I have been a consultant for years helping brick and mortar business build profits and create growth. Once I started to use my step-by-step process that I used anyway, and added the "Online/Offline" model, I tripled what I was doing rapidly.

The key is to use a system that works all the time.

I developed mine after being a Jay Abraham student, working personally with a mentor for a year, talking with my consultant friends and tweaking what I was doing, plus adding my own experience as a business owner in a small niche to get to where I am today.

One of my coaching clients from overseas told me just today that after following what I told him to do, he was able to convert 66% of prospects he talked with... and he is just starting! That is the power of a system.

But let me share another thing.

I spent a lot of money on systems from other folks. They did not always work for me. the same is true for my system. It doesn't work for everybody. Your personality, work ethic, personal situation, discipline, and a bunch of other factors help determine you will succeed in anything.

My system works for me as well as a number of coaching clients.

Find something that will work for you and don't be afraid to invest in yourself.

    Hope this helps.

    Warmly,

    Millard

I guess the hardest thing for me is determining how to price and package these services as well as knowing how to charge for the consulting portion of the business. Because im so new at this I am a little afraid to get my feet wet for fear of not being able to deliver for my clients. What I need is a proven plan that will work to bring in new clients for my customers not just get them a first page listing which may or may not help their bottom line. The market im focusing on is the service business industry. What would be your best advice for building up new clientelle for this type of business?

In terms of packaging and pricing, check out what your competition is providing and at what price. Repackage their packages to your own ones, with a moderate pricing level in terms of your competitors.

A lot of the packages that you can provide i.e. SEO and Social Media, can be outsourced to Warriors here on the Warriors for Hire forum.

You may want to leave the consulting for later until you increase your knowledge and confidence in being able to sell 'advice only'.

Here's a little something I did, I contacted a few firms in a niche here in London by email and offered them first page Google ranking. I had never done this commercially before so I did some free work to build a portfolio.

Once I got the guy onto the first page, he didn't want to build a long term relationship with me. I went to his competitor, showed the work I did for the first guy and signed a £5k [$7.5k] contract with him over email. Total cost to me for the work I did for the first guy $170.

For me success in offline marketing was all to do with thinking out of the box and risk reversal.

Hmmm.... $297 is really expensive training?

How about $25,000 for a Jay Abraham Protege Training back in the 1990's?

    How about $10,000 for mentoring?

How about another $25,000 for a year of training?

    What did it get me?

How about 22 years working with businesses like Home Shopping Network, American Can, Swift- Eckrich Meats, The Radisson Hotels, and a bunch more.

It also gave me the experience to have a SYSTEM that brings me prospects that I change into clients like clockwork.

This forum is a great way to test the pulse of what is going on in internet marketing. You will find real players here... but you will also find a lot of folks who do not want to pay for value given.

One of my coaching clients this year had no problem paying four figures and a percentage of business earned to me.

Many of the REAL top players are under the radar, for good reason.

Sure there are scam artists out here... the 'Net is still like the wild west in places (Well, maybe early 1900's).

If you want to be coached, talk to the coach! See if you get along. Talk and see what they know.

MWGrubb58 Thank you for your comment. I unfortunatly had a bad experience right when I was getting started which kind of soured my view. I am impressed with your accomplishments. I know $297 may seem like a small amount to you, but for me just starting out every dollar counts. I would love to have been able to afford the training you have. You are very fortunate.

Yep... no one gives it all to you in one package. I have went through many and the best I found to date is Jack Mize offline x factor and Matt Bush (fellow warrior) Offline Superstar.

But you will still have to come up with your own pricing and package pricing since everyone does it a little different and different niches are willing to pay more etc.

Yet another "offline gold" bull**** artist that took members of several marketing forums for $100K by not delivering the product he sold to them.

Quite typical of many of the scammers, hucksters, and flagrant shysters that float in and around this market - ultimately giving internet marketing and marketing consulting as a whole a really bad reputation.

My strongest suggestion when thinking about listening to ANYONE in the marketing advice business is to simply Google their name, check out their sites, read what others are saying about them, dig into their personal background and resume.

That usually separates the BS artistry from the real players.

Unfortunately, too many people get their emotions engaged, and don't think through what is happening before they dash into a situation waving their credit card in the air.

I just talked about this in my most recent blog post... Are A Lot Of Social Media Marketing And "Offline Marketing" Consulting Gurus Scam Artists?

everything you need to know about everything is on the site
    when you become a member.

The best part is that it is a "living" training platform.
Meaning it is never outdated like most programs you get into.
I always hated signing up for the newest scheme only to find
out that what that person was using, they were using a year ago
    and it doesn't work now.
This never happens with PRO, You never have old info.

Honestly if you wanted to perform all those services you'd be better off outsourcing the work.

But I think the biggest problem here is probably the mindset that you would need all this information to start making money.

Most of the people I know who've gone from zero to making a good income selling their internet marketing services started out just selling whatever skills they had.

And in many cases that was just one or two small things like putting up a simple wordpress website and doing some SEO or getting a google maps listing and putting up a website with email follow up.

Or doing some simple marketing with online video.

It's not necessary or desirable to know everything.

    What's important is:

    # You help the businesses you work with make real sales and profits (and you can do that with nearly any internet marketing skill).

    # You start making some money RIGHT NOW.

Don't think for a second that you need a complicated, comprehensive course to make money.

    It's not going to help.

What will make the difference is for you to start taking action right now with the skill and information you already have.

    It's just not that complicated.

You talk to a business owner...you find a way to help him...you get paid in advance...you do some work that helps him make some money...you get hired for other projects and you get referrals.

It doesn't matter what method you use at some point you're going to have get in touch with some business owners and talk to them.

So start there and you can work things out for yourself as you go.

    Kindest regards,
    Andrew Cavanagh
