Business/Industry Research

Russ pointed out, and I can't agree more, how important it is to know a prospects business/industry before making contact with them. The question is what's the best way to get the relevant info on these businesses/industries without spending countless hours wading through site after site? I assume their is probably a site dedicated to disseminating concise info. If not, it might be a good WSO.

Well, check out the resources at your library. Here in King County WA (Seattle and so forth) we have an awesome library system. As part of the resources they subscribe to a variety of excellent databases. They normally cost a pretty penny to join but are free to those with a library card. I suspect the same is true in most areas. And even better, the librarians will help you get started! You don't even have to go to the physical library it's all on line.

it's very important; you need to understand the business owner and what he does. If you don't , how can you sell what he offers?
