Who Would You Submit This Press Release To?

I have a client who is the CEO of a large Bio-Tech R&D company in the US (and I have just taken over their SEO requirements). It seems that their PR Company is failing to reach a wide enough audience with its press releases. They do use PR News Wire and some medical-related PR delivery companies - but that's all. The end result is that despite this company having pioneered, developed, field-tested and 'about to go commercial with' a globally beneficial medical product that promises to eradicate HAI's from hospitals, hardly anyone knows about it!

Can any of you recommend a Top Ten list (or however many there might be) of High End PR delivery firms / PR Services equivalent to (or at least as reputable as) PRWeb and
PRNewsWire?

I really want to help my client get his company's message out BIG TIME!

Perhaps another way of putting this is "if YOU owned a company that stood to make hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue from globally marketing a globally beneficial medical product / service, how would you promote it OFFLINE as well as ONLINE?

If you're wondering, their website is CONSERVATIVE so as not to freak out the health-related watch-dogs who loathe anything remotely resembling "hype" (which I can understand).

Cheers

Sounds like this is your target market ... find PR firms that specialize in hospital/healthcare related firms, do a hard paper PR to all the major hospital administrators (find a list firm)

Find out where your target market goes online to talk and TALK to them there.

This is the wrong question for your situation. PRNewswire is the gold standard of distributing press releases, and if you are not happy with your results from using them, then you need to try a different PR tactic, such as compiling a list of reporters for the top ten trade magazines in the industry and targeting them individually with what are called pitch letters.

Hi Marcia... thank you for your explanation. I took your advice and have had some success contacting various online and offline media via my own "rough and ready" version of a pitch letter.

However, if you had any examples of Pitch Letters (or could direct me to a source where I can see them) I would be most grateful. I really want to "get the hang" of this whole "pitch letter" followed by "Press Release" thing

    Smeatz,

I Googled "sample pitch letter" and found this example:
