Wiley Publishing (the "For Dummies" publisher) opportunity

Fellow warriors:

I want YOU in my book!

I've been asked to write a marketing book for Wiley Publishing and it's coming together nicely. There's a post about it on my blog here:

My "real book" deal with the "For Dummies" publisher | Jim Cockrum Blog

If any warriors have solid examples of creative strategies (or even common stuff like PPC, basic SEO, a simple wordpress site, etc.) that are really working for "real world" businesses (or online businesses) I'd love to hear the brief version of the story and there's a good chance your name, your website or biz name, and your client will make it into my book.

They want me to FILL the book with real world examples and I'm getting some GREAT ones, but I need more.

This book is slated to sell 10,000 copies VERY quickly and I'm planning to keep it on the business best seller charts for several weeks or months.

Of course I'll have some great freebies for you as well for your time.

email me at: jimcockrum<@>gmail.com or post questions here on the forum if it's a question that others might be asking.

If I was writing that book, I'd start with what doesn't work. That could fill the first 500 hundred pages if you just listed the thing and didn't explain it.

That would save people 1,000 times the price of the book.

But I will give you one thing that works for me: testing everything. Why? Because the most expensive thing about online marketing is your time. And, testing saves time by the boat load.

I know you learned to test your stuff on Ebay, didn't you, you old dog.

P.S. Good luck with the book. How many words does Wiley want? 20,000? Who's doing the artwork, you or them?

Thanks for the great replies so far. Anyone else have anything to share? It doesn't have to be JUST offline business success. It can be a web based business success story with verifiable results using an unusual or inexpensive approach to gain publicity.

        Jim,

To clarify, if we send you specific examples, that you decide to use, how will we be credited for the ideas?

        Thanks,

You and I will both have to approve of how it appears, but a relevant website, your name etc. are all on the list of possibilities. I want you to benefit if you have good examples for us.

Length isn't as important as are the details. Shoot me a brief summary and I'll let you know if I need more.

Ideally the example is something that a wide audience can grasp and use in their own business efforts. The more "generic" the better.
