OFFLINE MARKETING

I have two questions regarding backlinks:

1. Will getting a lot of high PR non-relevant backlinks HURT you any?

- From experience, I have used my list of backlinks (the ones I sell in my signature) to get my sites ranked. And... they have worked phenomenally well! I currently rank #1 with a search term of 15,800 monthly searches and 34 million competing websites... all with ONLY these certain backlinks that I use. I literally did NOTHING as far as SEO (or anything) for that website, except for these specific backlinks, and I have obtained that ranking because of them.

2. Does backlinking your directory listing (Yellow Pages, Yelp... etc) and/or Google Places help any?

- Basically what I'm asking is if I build backlinks to these specific pages, will they rank higher in search terms, just as a website would?

Hi!

Not only will the yellowpages and other websites you link to rank higher. Their link to your main website will also give your website more power if you backlink to them as well.

Since you are building Google trust to the pages that link to you, your Google trust will aslo increase.

As long as the backlinks have a relevant anchor text, it will help you in the SERPs.

I think you'll get better linking with your Places listing by including a Google Map listing in your site with the address and phone number exactly the same on both your site, the Places listing. Even better is ensuring that information is the same everywhere there is a citation.

Over at Google Webmasters it is often talked about the misconception of relevant backlinks and the general consensus is that high pr backlinks help a great deal whether they're highly relevant or not.

It's really suppose to be very good to build high quality backlink , for your online business as well. This could mainly comes in the category of seo.
