Firefox vs Google Chrome Listing

Hey guys,
I'm looking for answers to a fairly confusing problem I'm experiencing. I'm doing some SEO work for a local dentist in New Zealand. Problem I have is that the 1st page listing for 2 keywords I'm targeting is showing on different pages from Firefox to that being displayed on Google Chrome. My client only use Google Chrome and as the listings are different cannot see their site on 1st page as showing on my Firefox setting. Has anyone had this problem before?

Well, I'm not an expert but Google uses your web history/browser data to customize your search results. And I've read that it is even more prevalent if your are signed into Google.

So make sure you are not signed in and then turn off customized search results... do a search and in the upper right hand corner of the browser you should see a "Web History" link. Click that and you can see how to disable customizations based on search activity.

    Good Luck!

Tell your dentist to use IE because that's the browser most of his clients are using to find dentists in his area.

Most people don't know about Chrome or FF so wast of time using it to show results to your dentist client.

seeing as you mention chrome.... have you checked out the incognito option? kinda nifty, and quick and easy to do as it is right there. However, it still tracks your google search history (stupid I know, but it makes sense from google's perspective if they're being a little greedy... the want all that info about you!).

So like the people here said, log out of your google account.

Never tell anybody ever to use IE, ever...
Anyhow, Google uses web history, cookies and sessions to make searches a little more targeted. Tell your client to clear their files or simply browse in "incognito mode" (Ctrl+Shift+N).

Since the inception of Firefox, it has been (more or less) the defacto standard browser for a wide array of corporations, groups & people. It quickly rose to be the dominant browser due to it’s open source nature, it’s speed & it’s ability to properly display a web page. There are plenty of other reasons (like it is/was much more secure than IE6 … no clue how it stacks up to IE8 though), but one of the most impt reasons was it’s add-ons/extensions.

With extensions anyone could go in and create an extension for Firefox which augmented some functionality, added something new, removed something they didn’t like and completely redesigned the interface. Heck, now-a-days Firefox is still THE browser to use when creating webpages simply because of it’s power extensions such as: SEO-Firefox, FireBug and YSlow just to name a few.

Users finally had a (really) great free alternative to all other browsers. Opera and Netscape really didn’t compare back then, though I here the latest Opera is rather nice. But the battle raged on mostly between Mozilla’s Firefox and Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. It is a real David vs Goliath battle here folks.
