My site has gotten the leads, now how do I guarantee a local biz to pay for them?

I've got several sites that are on the front page of Google and ready to be turned into Lead Generation sites. My question/concern is how do I guarantee that businesses will pay me for them? Do I utilize auto software like AWeber or possibly phone call center routing? I want as much automated as possible. I've read as much as possible on how to design sites and sell SEO to clients but haven't found anything on how to actually sell the leads to businesses? Are there any tools out there that can take my leads whether by web forms or phone calls and automate the process of qualifying and providing them to clients. And then are there any tools that can guarantee payment for those leads?

Comments?

How do you know they are generating leads?

Page 1 - position 1 doesnt always = leads rolling in.

It's an assumption that once I initiate my lead generating techniques that I will get some qualified leads. I've actually done this for my own business in the past where I designed the site and got the work locally. Now I'm no longer in that line of work but have focused on creating sites for small companies that need more sales. I'm just trying to find out how to best automate the process of distributing the leads I get and the payment for those leads. Hope that helps and thanks for the response.

I have created many pages, ranked them on the first page, but did not pull in as many leads as I expected. However the thing that allowed me to make money off the site without me doing to much work after the project was complete was target the PPC marketers for the keywords that I ranked for. I would then lease out the website and allow the person who purchased it to put their contact info on the page. This saves them PPC money! Don’t ask the price because that all depends on the keyword.
Also if you do this, make sure they know that its a limited time offer because you will be sending the offer to the other competitors that are also bidding for that keyword. For some odd reason, even if they did not want to get the site, they would rather have it then their competitors.

so just a little research on the PPC advertiser is a good list to begin with. This would be more for a the entire rental of the site though rather than the buying of leads. Thanks for the input. Still wanting to know if anyone knows of any automated software or the "best practice" process to automate the distribution of leads and payment for them.

well depends on how the client contacts you.

Example a form - you can set it up to foward to your client buying the leads.
for a phone call just get a virtual number and foward the number to your client.

To track all leads that would require either a wp plugin (gravityforms comes to mind, since they have a database export to .csv feature thats great) and a virutal number will have a call log of all numbers who called, how long they talked etc.

wow. thanks a lot. What about clients only paying for leads who turn into actual sales? Is that a avenue to head towards or stay with the leads. It probably means more to local biz since they are actually getting sales from the leads but as far as tracking leads to sales that would be difficult and basically puts a strain on the locail biz and myself.

Anyone agree with this or have any comments?

For clients paying for leads that turn into actual sales - that is hard to determine due to the fact that you really never know if they turned into a sale.

A good client will tell you and pay you for the lead.

A bad client might take all your leads, get paid off of them and say that your leads suck.

It really can go either way, at this point in time companies are just trying to stay afloat so they can burn you (for short term success) or pay you (long term success)

I would never setup a deal where I only get paid only if it turns into an actual sale unless it was something huge ($X,xxx)

Now another thing you can do is give the leads to 2 different companies and see what happens.
This method is more risky because
1.) they might think you are messing with them
2.) They might not close and blame it on you.
3.) because of the first 2 they might not do business with you.

Another thing you can do, just an idea I got today from costco.

Give them a few sample leads (if you can) and see what happens. If they like what you gave them, then they would be repeat customers.

If not then your not wasting your time trying to sell them, you can move on to the next.

I would suggest selling the leads and then getting a bonus for leads that turn into sales.

Just capture the lead emails, put them on a excel spreadsheet and setup a paypal button that redirects to the download location url on your server.

I currently use Marchex - A Call Advertising and Small Business Marketing Company for clients. You buy a local number and then redirect that number to the client's number. You can also record all the calls, which helps for quality of calls.

With a lot of niches, people aren't going to fill out a form. For instance, if someone is having a problem in there toilet, they're not going to fill out a form... they're going to pick up the phone and get there toilet fixed. I've found, having dealt with 100's of different client sites and business verticals, that most people pick up the phone and call for services - so its in your best interest to track and send phone calls.

What you can do is pay-per-call: Find out what people are paying per click and that can be your "gauge". If businesses are paying $1 per click, then charge $10-$15 per phone call. If businesses owners are paying $6 per click, then charge $50-$60 per call.

It's $10-$15 for a number and then you pay for min... which I can't remember at the moment, but it's not too bad. The conversations are pretty quick.

You could also offer to sell the leads FOR the business so you know how many are converting.

Then, you can also sell for other businesses as well if the lead generation page is generic enough and just charge each business per lead used, and you get paid per sale made.
