Google Maps - New address

Can a changed address cause issues with Google Maps and other directories?

I will be starting work for a client soon who moved locations a few months ago. All of the directories that have her listed have her old address. (These are all scraped listings; she has not actually verified any.) Will the fact that she used to be at a different location cause problems? Should I claim an entirely new Google Places listing at her new address, or try to claim and edit the old one?

No, changing addresses should not cause a problem depending upon how you approach them matter.
I would not get a new listing with Google Places as that violates their TOS. I would edit the existing listing and just update the location. You said :

So, I would find all the scraped listings, and have the client verify the listing. When the customer verifies the listing, then they should be able to update the address. When Google spiders the the listings, which may take some time, Google will recognize the new location instead of the old.
I would then create more backlinks to the listing utilizing the new location.

    Hope this helps.
