Meeting with Client Very Soon! 1st One!!

Hey guys,

I'm hoping to land my first client today, I box at a local gym and my coach said he needed to step up business. I told him what I do, that I am a local business marketer. He is not the owner my coach, I talked to the owner of the place and told him what I could do for him. He said give me a proposal and he was gonna "chop it up," not sure what that means, if it means price or what I'm gonna do for him.

But here is what it looks like so far.

Client Initials: ____________

Fees and Paid as Agreed status:
Initial Set-Up fee is $1,500 (one thousand five hundred dollars). Client agrees to an Initial Deposit of $1,500 (one thousand five hundred dollars) upon signing of this agreement. From then on a Check of $400 will be sent on the last day of each month for the next 12 months.

He owns a private gym, and he said his average customer is worth about $500 a month to him. I know I can bring in people and make a lot more then I am charging. If he balks at the prices I was thinking of simply just stating "I know I can increase business 20-30% just in 2011"

What do you guys think of the situation? The meeting can be in an hr or tomorrow, give me some feedback.

Thanks

Mike

I'm about to start doing something similar in a month or so, and I think I've got a pretty good plan and most questions answered, except for the last part of your post: "I can increase your business 20-30%." I think that is a guess at best, a lie at worst. You know your services are valuable, and more visitors to the site should = more customers, but I don't like to make statements like that since it's impossible to predict the future. Especially if this is your first customer.

I would also incorporate a twitter page and/or a page on the site for current specials that could be easily updated once every couple of months.

    Good luck!

Seems good but as above, just to stress it, I wouldn't go promising that type of stuff - simply because he might love you all the way until then, at which point he will just think you're talking crap if you give him some figures like that. I mean, it might even be true - but he will think that you have no experience with the gym, etc and how would you know, etc. You just want to keep credibility in his eyes.

If he doesn't like the price (and seriously, he will love it if his avg. customer value really is $500/month) then try to justify it through some other means!

    Goodluck!
