Your offline goals for 2011!

I was thinking it'd be a great idea for everyone to have a thread where they can provide a little information about themselves or their company as well as some great milestones achieved in 2010 and the bright plans for the future specifically 2011 - this can be both business and personal!

The purpose of this is to get some positive energy flowing and give each other the boost to get it done in 2011 by putting your goals down in writing that you can look at every day and even update and share your targets you hit with the support base we will build!

I'll start it off

I'm pretty new here but I have been into marketing and business since I was 10 (no literally I used to do the paper run and instead of selling the Paper shops drinks I purchased cases from my local supermarket, whacked them into my fridge and went around with a cooler selling them to the stable hands at the race track that was on my route)

I am the Managing Director of my new fresh start up Social Threads which I incorporated in November this year which I guess is my first big mile stone in business for 2010.

In 2011 I aim to expand my company with a great website being designed currently, as well as acquire local clients that I can assist build some really great strategies for and help them with their marketing to boost their ROI.

Specifically my hit list is
  • Complete the website
  • Add killer content and build up my ranking
  • Secure new clients every week and get retainers formed
  • Host a seminar each month pulling in $5000+ worth of revenue
  • Earn $300 every day by May

My overarching goal is to build a reputation and provide quality services I am passionate about - the money will come as I need it but I am really focusing on building the fundamentals whilst I complete my studies at university so I have a monster in the wild when I graduate!

One of my goals as well. I want to add them into my mix. I was actually thinking about this earlier. Doing one a month, make about $5,000 for the one day event, help a handful of businesses owners make more money. Win win.

That or do one or two big seminars a year. Will probably evolve into that.

Good thread, Josh. I was going to start a 2011 goal thread. You beat me to it.

Oh for sure, the training programs are a great route to not only make money, but provide businesses with the opportunity to pick things up themselves, I spoke to some friends of mine who are professional and qualified trainers that are interested in teaming up with me to do it so it's promising

I am sure that you will easily hit your goals, you know your stuff which is something that can't be said for a lot of people that are trying to break into offline (well you and I aren't really trying to break into offline, we both are offliners).

Did you get skype connected up? When you do pm me and we'll keep in touch

    Hi Guys

    Great thread.

I always spend my time between Boxing Day and New Year writing out my goals and developing an action plan to achieve them.

As some of my goals are built around the offline market and in particular seminars and trainings I thought I would share them.

    Goals

Hold one free seminar per month for 100 people min £5,000 income

Hold one training session per month for 50 people min £7,500 income

Hold one 'Consultant' training per quarter for 50 people min £12,500

    Action Plan

The beauty of these three goals is that I can achieve them using the same methods.
The first thing I do is contact my existing client base that I know have credibility and a large business orientated client base. (see note)

The kind of clients that are perfect for this are solicitors (attorneys), accounts (CPA's) and financial services firms.

I them offer them a marketing opportunity to get in front of their clients and offer something of value, the thing of value is a 1.5 hr seminar on 'how to get more business'.

    This does a few things:

    1. The client benefits from getting their name in front of their clients again and reminding them what good guys they are, they may pick up new clients and sell additional services to their existing clients. All of this at very little cost, I make them pick up the bill for the hotel.

    2. The attendee's benefit from networking at the event and getting some great information on growing their business.

    3. I benefit by not having any expenses, getting in front of a targeted audience who will buy my services, and being perceived as the 'expert' with the added benefit of credibility by association with the company that has sponsored the event.

At the seminar I let the sponsor talk for about 10 minutes about what's new in their business then let them introduce me. I then give them at least 10 ways any business can grow (one of the ways they can grow is by sponsoring me to talk to their people, I only need one in the audience to take me up and I have the next seminar booked).

During the talk I give them some information that they could use that day and of really high value.

The majority of people will be interested but don't either fully understand or have the resources to implement so they end of coming to me to carry out the work.
I also do a soft pitch for the training seminar for those that want more in-depth information and for the 'consultants' seminar for those who want to JV or refer clients on a paid basis.

    Hope that's useful.

    John

    Note
If you don't have any clients and you are just starting off then find one that needs more business and offer to hold the seminar for free, even pick up the bill if necessary. Or you could do some work for free just to get credibility. Getting them listed high on Google places works great for this.

First, I'm going to take a nap, no wait that's my daughter's list.

Now that I have a few moments to reflect on next year I have decided first to complete the editing of my second novel and then start the new marketing campaign. I got up to 250,000 downloads for my first novel but for 2011 but for the second novel I got to monetize those results.

My *offline* goals are to eat healthier and get more active. I'm finding the more emeshed I get in IM the less active I am, and I want to change that and find a better balance between life and work.
