Postcard Mailings for Clients

Hey Warriors,

Any suggestions for online services to fulfill design, print and mailing of over-sized postcards...

I have a few clients that would like me to take this function over...

Any experiences ?

Thanks

I have used ace information print and copy with success. You'll have to google them as I don't have enough posts yet to give a hyper link. I like them as you they have great customer service and they can do about anything you need. Hope that helps you (if still looking)

          Lisa,

First off, thanks for the info...

Secondly... YOUR WEBSITE IS GREAT, I don't see many SEO services with a flash type site... How does it rank for you?

            hey Nick-
Happy New Year to You. I know I get that question all the time, my front end flash. My Mom hates it too, she says black web sites scare her LOL. Anyways, a simple footer link off to a wordpress blog does the trick nicely. I'll be changing that front end soon, so check back. It's the other 187 sites that we put more engineering toward optimization that seems to balance it nicely. Isn't it funny how we spend so much time managing our customer sites or developing products that our personal site always takes a back seat. And I'm not making a New Years Resolution on this either, fat chance that will resolute . cheers.

    Hey Nick,

I've used QuantumDigital | Your Turnkey Provider for Direct Mail Postcards, Automated Direct Marketing, Online Printing a few years back for some digitally printed, over sized postcards and they looked great and were printed and mailed in just a day or two.

I've also ordered products from overnightprints.com that I've been happy with, but haven't sampled their mailing services.

    Cheers,

    Steve

Heres one for UK Warriors: https://mailshotsonline.com

Run by Royal Mail - it was the only UK service I could find that would let me produce single 'one-off' postcards, or upload a mailing list for multiple mailings.

They will print and post an A5 glossy postcard for .54p - sent same day if ordered before 2pm!

It seems many of you have been sending out postcards already. Would you mind sharing what is your typical closing ratio?

I thought about 1 in 50 with no phone call follow ups and 1 in 25 with them. Am I off the mark?

I want to figure the time and costs invested to see if it makes the ROI worth it.

    Thanks

      Jay,

The way I look at it is, how many orders or leads do I need from the mailing to break even? And given the price point, the offer and the audience, is it reasonable for me to do better than break even? If so, I go ahead.

Sometimes, just one new client from a mailing will pay for it many times over.

A client of mine sent out 200 postcards and got two orders, one for $42,000 and one for $200,000. It was worth it for him, for sure.

Sending out postcards for low-cost products or services is so much harder to make it work.

      P.S. I use and recommend PostcardBuilder.com

$42,000 and $200,000??? Wow. What is he offering? Straight up consulting services?

I thought of using the postcard method to get video and autoresponder deals at the $300-500 mark. With the goal of getting in the door and transforming some of these clients (and their referrals) into full blown consulting clients.

I admit I didn't think of offering consulting services right off the bat with postcards or any "cold" prospecting system, as I figured only referred clients or those that have seen what I can offer/how I work would be interested.

You use postcards to offer high end services?

edit:I just realized that if was "your client" that send the postcards that got the big deals, so I guess he's not offering consulting services at all but another kind of service/product all together. I still wonder how to go about offering high services in one shape or another with postcards.

These were creative, attention-getting newsletter-style postcards with no sales pitch in sight. The match between the message and the audience was so perfect, the recipients realized that the sender was the guy to solve their current problem.

I've used the same approach myself for a specific target market, also with immediate consulting sales even though again there was no sales pitch on the postcard.

Great! I imagine you customized the postcard for each recipient? Did you send them to a tailored video/article/newsletter of some kind, or simply your contact info?

Is there a good place to print/mail customized postcard? The recommended places I see above are for cost-effective MASS mailing of the same postcard.

What about when we send tailored postcard to each recipient? I don't want to print them all at home...

Jay the best place I've found so far for this is Custom Full 4 Color Direct Mail Marketing Postcards - www.postcardbuilder.com (as mentioned by a couple others on this thread)

I create personalized files/graphics for each prospect on my PC and upload them with the DIY service on their site and they mail them one at a time for only .63 per postcard including printing and postage. Full color both sides 4x6 standard size. I send cherry-picked prospects to a voicemail and/or website from the postcard and get 2 or 3 good leads from every 40 or 50 pieces mailed. Again, very customized/personalized mailings is the key to high response, and I'm offering a $500ish sale on the front end.

PM me for a sample of the card I send.

I have my own full scale service. All mailing equipment owned by me. www.myezprinter.com
I am offering all Warriors wholesale pricing for their own direct mail, and to service their clients. I will guarantee you will not find better pricing anywhere...I've checked.

This is is a great situation for you to make additional profit on this aspect of your marketing push.

The site itself will be changing thursday or friday and the online mailing will be up.

Now, it is all handled through email.

    dhpeck@myezprinter.com

In addition I can print custom post cards...from quantity 1 to whatever. (high quality thick gloss stock, or anything needed)

I'm always glad to see direct mail being used...it is a severely underestimated medium.... Go knock em dead!

I'd be greatfull for the oportunity to bid on your projects.

    Thank You,

    Doran P

ps: I am working up a WSO on this very thing...but since it was brought up here

I've used gotprint for years. I haven't ever found anyone who can beat their price to print cards.

For shipping try to find a local postal shipping place. Check to see who the local politicians use.

Be sure to ask about 3rd class mail (standard mail) and the difference between postage labels. There are 3rd class stamps (the most expensive), metered mail (the next most expensive) then there's a postage bar code that is sprayed on (not a label) that's the one. It's dirt cheap.

Vista Print is pretty good they will print them and mail them for you or you can get postcards made and sent to you really cheap. They even offer a lot of things for free. I have ordered business cards and postcards from them cheap.

I'm not in the US, and all the good recommended sites here would not work for me, so I just do them on Photoshop (once the set up was done, speed picked up). Have them printed them out. Will put the stamp and mail them myself. More time consuming but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.

There is a great place in Salt Lake City, UT called "One Stop CD Shop". Google them. They do all aspects of marketing information products as well such as duplicating CDs and DVDs, cover printing, artwork creation, printing of all kinds, binding, and drop shipping. Call either Julie or Ken Rasmussen (owners) and tell them Jon Davis sent you. They are quick, can do same day jobs, and are very well priced.

I own 14 retail stores and we are currently using sendoutcards.com/biz/148169 to mail over 2000 post cards and thank you cards to our clients each month. I don't know what size you are looking for but our cost is about 31 cents each + postage.
