Google places question

OFFLINE MARKETING

When google shows the combined places listing, and you want to get a clients website/places page onto page one, which do you promote/backlink to? Is it the main webpage that will evoke the places combined listing. Or do you promote the places page, and the website will be linked to the places page once it ranks on page #1?

I build citations and backlinks to the actual business website.

  # 1: You get the name and physical address of the business listed on as many local and related sites as you can (we call these citations).
  
  # 2: You get backlinks to your website.
  
  # 3: Add high quality content to the google places listings...photos, videos, descriptions etc etc. Get happy customers to place reviews.
  
  # 4: Add high quality content to the website. If it's optimized for local keyword phrases that's going to help a lot.
