Honestly it depends on how much work your going to have to do ?

What did you offer him ? Local SEO, Organic SEO, Email Marketing, blogging ?

I am getting him listed in places and keeping him there. That is the service.

Charge them $400 an hour and then 30% of whatever revenue you bring to them. See how they like it.

When you quote him a price, if he doesn't say "that should be illegal" then you didn't charge enough!

Honestly, the question is too vague with out knowing more details, e.g. keyword research - how many keywords are you going to attempt to rank for? The more keywords the higher the price. Best advice is get as much as possible, it's easier to reduce your price than it is to raise it later.

I once sold software to lawyers and they were some of the cheapest clients going, except when it came to what they charged.

lol I am ranking him for 3 words and around 12k searches a month. I think $2000 a month is fair.

12k??? That's a lot. Is that on exact match in google keyword tool? Is one of your keywords simply "personal injury lawyer" or "personal injury lawyer + city"?

      • local sem services are around 400 to 600 per month! If your trying to do organic seo for his existing website you may want to charge per hour/ page/per keyword.

Ya but for google places listings is $1200 really that much. Considering how even if they only received one lead a month from me that would bring them way more than $1200

If this a specialist ie workers' comp, accident, wrongful death, etc, you could get considerably more.
      Pitch high, then negotiate.

Ya I like the pitch high idea, man I have to say @Brian Alaway Lawyers are the worst. I have never received so many nasty responses to my emails that I email to lawyers for my service. I think I need to move on to other niche's for google places.

Restaurants and Bars are a much more friendly bunch and easier to work with. They have so many varied opportunities for promotions, specials, discounts, etc. Also, if you are hitting the streets, they are 10 times more likely to listen to what you have to offer vs. a doctor, dentist or lawyer. Just don't visit them at lunch or dinner....

Emailing is perhaps the absolute worst way of prospecting anybody. They would be far more receptive to a phone call, personal visit, or even direct mail.

We charge $997.00 per month for full service SEO and that also includes the Website, Blog, Google Places Listing, Article and Video Marketing. That sweet spot in our opinion, is a solid price for a long term relationship. Best of luck to you. G

Charge him whatever you charge the rest of your clients. $1200/month seems really high. Are you charging all of your clients that much?

No I usually charge my clients $800-$1000 a month. Like I said it may seem high but when you think about the fact that even if google places brought him 1 extra client a month he would be making money.

Hit them up really high. Find out if it's a high end lawyer.

Don't be afraid to ask for $10k - $20k one time shot.

Ha... well if they are a lawyer specializing in mesothelioma throughout the U.S., then you better charge about $120,000 a month if you expect to break even. ;-)

LOL! Isn't there a synonym for mesothelioma that you can use for a PPC campaign?
