Any good suggestions for a directory website?

OFFLINE MARKETING

Hey guys,

I am going to be constructing a directory website for hopefully 100 different business, but, all in the same niche/geographical area.

Of course, there are micro-niches, and, there are different parts of this georgraphical area.

Any good websites that can be used as a model/template?

There is a product called Directory Press. It is still pretty new on the market and may not be as well developed as script (fewer users and testing), but Directory Press would be the "go to" wordpress directory script right now. I believe the creator is here on WF.

I am doing the same thing right now. I have used directory press and it is good but not as good as ClasiPress from AppThemes. I am currently building it out right now.

If you see a site you like, and would like to model after...
just right click on the page and click view page source.
Then scroll through the page source and look for WP items, like plugins.
It's not fool proof, but it should help a little.

Another, more simple way to find out if a site is powered by wordpress (apart from looking in the footer of course) is to type "/wp-admin" after the url and if it is you will be taken to the wp login page.
