What's the best Offline Marketing course?

Maybe it's because I read too much. Maybe it's because I buy to many info-products and overwhelm myself. Or maybe it's because I procrastinate to much.

Whatever the reason, I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired of not getting new clients, and 2011 will be different. This year will be the year that I get back into the offline game and end my 2 year hiatus.

I've noticed a lot has changed during my personal exile from offline marketing, so I want the best, most up to date course on Offline Marketing to re-familiarize myself with the niche.

With that being said, I'm doing someting new this year: Studying one course, and one course only. I'll then consume and devourer at least 10x.

So I need your help fellow Offline Golders...

What's the best course around for someone who can't claim "newbie" status, but can't claim "guru" status as well? I guess the best way to describe me is a "tweener", but more on the guru side.

Someone's going to get another line item added to their PayPal account this month, I just want to make sure it's a person who's course offers the meat and potatos, and not the fatback that most do offer.

Thanks ahead of time!

Make it a great day!

It's a very hard question. I haven't seen anything outstanding being released for quite a long time. If you are getting in to Google Places SEO you should make sure the course you buy is up to date because of the recent changes in the algorithm.

I buy a lot of the courses for research but haven't looked through them all yet, if I find anything great I will report back.

Hey Dhane, not sure if you got my reply, but I created a training course designed to fill in the various profit leaks that plague most offline marketing businesses in terms of their marketing and sales processes.

If you are looking for a proven system to generate new clients, have them WANT you to help them, not have to worry about price negotiating, generating larger deals, more referrals, and having a better enjoyment from your business...then take a look at the Consulting Success Map.

    Cheers,

True, while I believe some advice is better than others, it is good to stay open to ideas. If I never listened to any idea, I would not have certain methods of making money, doing my job, etc.

that response is full of crap to someone asking a question that has been asked over and over on this thread full of helpful people.

Dhane, taking the time to learn on your own might take someone 6 months to a year to learn what works, what doesn't, in SEO. How fast can you read a 550 page SEO book?

Asking for help and advice from folks who are doing it now, is the best place to start. 99% of the people here aren't cynical, so I encourage you to look through threads for "best offline seo course" in the Search box above.

Lots of people ask questions and even more answer on the WF.... and especially here in the offline chapter of WF.

      so welcome.

      TB

I haven't read a course or bought one, but there seems to be several courses, each with a different focus.

I would have to say "Google Places Unleashed" or "Mobile Local Fusion". Both give very good information for Google Places. In fact, there were a few things I put into place on my own GP after going through GP Unleashed...and it took me to the A spot in a few hours in some nearby towns.

Seriously, when it comes to he various courses? I look at it that if for less than $100 I am able to pick up a tip that can translate into thousands more...than it is worth it.

    Hi Dhane,

Internetmarketing can on some occasions be compared to real business life, away from the screen. So, its quite simple.

If you want to have the best course or training, you should learn from the best. Research your area of interest and get a master to teach you, whatever focus area - you might want to start in.

    I mean;

If you want to learn !!!!

Clientaquisition; look up some of the masters in this specific area.

    Way to succes - Methodology;

    A) Learn to get clients (fx. telemarketing by John Durham)
    B) Pick one method to supply your clients (fx Quick Press Release by Joshril)
    C) Maintain and develop your online business through building your clients businesses.
    (LasseKohau - Business coaching.)

    kind regards,
    Lasse

    Hi Dhane,

Great question, but in my opinion there is not one course out there that would provide you all that you need.

As I look at different products on Warrior Forum, many stick out as good in a specific niche, but I do not see any of them as delivering the complete package.

As an example, I would recommend you not purchase my Google Places course. It is designed to pick up where the overview courses leave off, and is aimed at local marketers who are actively working in the area. It will not help you find customers or build systems with your business.

The question you need to ask yourself is in what area are you looking to augment your current knowledge? Perhaps you are strong on the technical delivery end, but weaker in the sales/marketing side. Or, maybe you are strong at generating new clients and running your business, but struggle with the technical nuances of attaining results for clients.

In the above two situations, I would advise you to look for a course(s) that fill the gap where you want to increase your knowledge.

If you believe you need a full grounding in everything happening today in "offline marketing", evaluate courses that will build a well-rounded business for you:

    - Learn about Google Places strategies and how to deliver results here for clients. My clients get 70% of their
    - Learn about Facebook fan pages and how to use them with local clients
    - Learn about video marketing, and how businesses are using this develop a new flow of leads
    - Learn about mobile marketing, so you can see how/if you will offer this to clients
    - Learn how to effectively sell your services - whether through networking, telemarketing or any of several other methods to find new clients. This is a common area many people struggle with and is critical to your success as an offline marketer.
    - Learn about how to build a strong system for your business to help reduce mistakes and improve your ROI. Imagine...what happens when you sell 20 clients, start delivering services, getting great results.......BUT.......you aren't making money!!!

Lots of things to consider. Personally, I don't think there is any course out there that is both broad enough to provide the above level of education and deep enough to actually teach you useful information that will work with your clients.

On a positive and exciting note -- I've seen my own business begin to really take off the last 6 months. It's a great time to be dedicating yourself to working with real world clients.

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Hi Dhane,

I've read your post with a smile....

(Now I'm a Brit, So please forgive my bluntness)

But do you realy need another course?

I mean by the sounds of it you already have a bucket load of knowledge and also some of the posts that have replied to your post have given some useful pointers...

    My point is simply this...

"Don't worry about what you don't know as there is always stuff that you don't know".....

What you need to do is just go out there and fined the business & then and only then worry about how to do it...

The reason that i say this is because i have come across lots of internet marketers in the UK that stop before taking that 1st step.

I personally only started internet marketing a year ago & in truth. I knew as much about local business marketing as there is room for a finger in a thimble... but yet I made £10k about ($15k to you Americans) in a month of doing local business marketing.... (which was about 4 months in to my internet career).

And how did i do this, already admitting to you that i knew nothing about local business marketing?

Well i opened my mouth, got the business and then worried on how to do it after.... What you need to do is believe in yourself and the rest will fall in to place....

Just go and make that first step. You will be amazed what will happen!

Take care. Wishing you all the best & every sucsess

This is the best piece of advice - you can soon get bogged down with all the different information available.

I can't remember where I saw it, but someone said something like:

      'read 50% less - do 50% more'

Nothing will happen unless you actually DO something.

      Good luck

Hey Brian; I'm coming out with a complete offline product (Business in a Box Type Course) on the warrior forum probably in two weeks

It's in beta right now and everyone is loving it!

It's packed with content. A complete course

I just don't know that you need another course. Reading between the lines, it seems like you've already bought a lot of courses. Now it's a matter of just doing it.

Its all about your belly my friend.

If your belly isn't placed in front of another belly of someone else who can reasonably be expected to give you money, then all the courses in the world aren't going to save you.

So do what you have to do.
      • Telemarketing
      • Postcards
      • Emails
      • Cold Calling
      • Public Speaking
      • Referrals

Do whatever it takes for you to get belly to belly with someone who is in a position to hire you. It's all numbers my friend. If you plant your belly in front of 10 reasonably interested prospects, chances are you'll sign at least one of them, if you're really good maybe 3-5 of them.

That needs to be your focus. How can I put myself in front of 10 prospects within the next two weeks?

Don't spend any money on a course, you're better off spending money on stamps or picking up the phone and making a phone call, or walking into an office complex.

If you were to walk in cold to 100 business, or just picked up the phone to talk to 100 local businesses you'll learn a lot more than most courses out there.

You probably already have a handful of courses out there, just take massive action on what they say. If they say mail out 100 postcards, then mail out 300. If they say e-mail 100 businesses, mail 500. If they say to cold-call 20 businesses, cold call 100. Action is the name of the game my friend. Take Massive Action and you can't really fail. You're not going to "learn" a magic secret that will get clients knocking down your door. But you can "outwork" everyone out there to get the deals.

Good Luck. If you follow my plan, you won't need it.

      Very cool Ryan!

My knock on most of these is that at best they do a good job of tying everything together, but fail to dive deep enough into any one area to provide low-level, detailed help.

I think this would be a useful offering to many people. Good luck!

The best course really depends on you.

What I mean is it depends on your personality, your budget, and your time.

See I can show you how to make money with anything - postcards, public speaking, email, direct mail, door to door sales, platform speaking, etc

But none of it is important if you won't do it. If you shutter at the thought of speaking in front of a large group it doesn't matter how much money you could make because you won't do it.

Same thing with postcards. Just a had a student make a 367% return on his investment in postcards (here is the blog about it - Offline Student Scores A 367% Return On Investment) but he had to spend time and money (a small sum really but enough to make most people here put a brown steak in their shorts) in order to do it.

        So here's my suggestion.

Sit down and write out things you're willing and want to do. Now I'll tell you every increase in income I've ever received was from stepping outside of a comfort zone but most people won't.

        So make your list.

Then you need to look at the time you have available in your life. If you're working 3 jobs and have 5 kids at home chance are the only "alone" time you get involves you sitting on the porcelain thrown. That means you might not have time to go door to door, might not have enough time to cold call people.

So if you're short on time you need to focus on the highest activities you can do in order to get clients, setup meetings, and close deals.

Finally money. I'll be honest if you're rubbing two nickels together right now to stay warm offline marketing most likely isn't for you. Seriously. Desperation only breeds more desperation.

My suggestion would be to establish a budget that you can spend on getting new clients and use in your lead generation and fulfillment cost.

        Hope that helps.

        Tim
