OFFLINE MARKETING

after you've gone in a store and sealed the deal how would you get them to pay you, they probably wouldn't hand over credit card details like that and will prefer a cheque but you would want the credit card to bill them every month. so how do your cliets pay you.

Well, if the deal is cracked online, clients prefer to use paypal, moneybroker or plimus etc. Its secure and easy.

  I get paid mostly with cash or cheque since all my customers are local businesses. I've had problems putting payments through Paypal manually since if the clients card is linked to an exisitng Paypal account you can't put it through. Hoping to get a system similar to Paypals virtual terminal soon so I can set up and accept recurring payments. Or you could get direct debits setup for repeat billing.

Cash, check or credit card works for me.

I use Freshbooks for recurring payments. The client has the option of mailing a check or using a credit card through PayPal.

i had my account with PayPal locked before. so with my offline biz i invoice my clients every month and get a check. i use freshbooks

I setup a unique payment button for the amount agreed upon. For smaller projects, I accept checks. I'm even not opposed to barter if the company offers a product or service I'm interested in using.

All my deals have occurred remotely over the phone and internet, so the majority of my payments have come through Paypal. There have been a few cases where checks were sent to me, but those have been few and far in between.

paypal or card by telephone accounts for most of our business including corporate or private individuals. Some Educatiuonal establishments prefer to pay by cheque in the mail (we are UK). Shop counter customers are 90% card, only 10% pay cash. We don't take cheques any more because almost all UK cheque guarantee cards are also debit cards.

  I prefer cashiers checks but I'll allow other forms if the client really wants it.
  
  Better to cater to them than lose them to someone else in my opinion. A little flexibility goes a long way in building goodwill. Most clients have no problem providing a cashiers check though.

On a first payment, it's almost always a check, unless they show some knowledge in online payments and arent afraid to pay me via paypal.

I generally send an invoice that has either the option of paying by check, or a paypal button embedded that they can use to pay online.
